It has been 4 years since I started my prerequisites. I've been going non stop and haven't missed a semester.

About 18 months, averaging between 9-16 credits per semester. Then 18 months of nursing school.

I've changed my minds so many times, it's taken me awhile. I didn't want to quit my other degree/certificate programs so it's taken me longer, BUT I just found out that next semester is my last and then it's the program. I don't know if I'm nervous or excited.

at my job at the hospital I get to work directly with the nurses, getting really a pre clinical.....and I found out that I'm classified as a PCT slash Nurse Extern. That really boosted my morale as our director is backing me in the program.

It took me three semesters, but I took a fourth semester because I was still waiting for acceptance into the program (I took all my non-nursing classes for BSN that fourth semester). I know what you mean about it seeming to take forever; I started my ADN in Jan 2011. I'll have my ADN in December and then have three semesters to finish BSN. I feel like I've been taking classes for FOREVER (even though it's really not been THAT long!)

Right now it's taken me 2 years going on 3. My second semester I changed my major and went back into Nursing. I also screwed up a Bio class once. So it's taking me a little while longer than expected.

Like tnicnat I have also changed my mind so many times, along with starting and stopping, so my first completed pre-reqs are from 1998. I have a total of 3 semesters left and will be applying for my program next spring. All I can say is that I am happy that other than the core science classes the rest do not have a time limit at my school. I would hate to have to take all of those classes over again.

Too long because classes are extremely hard to get here. Always full.

finished all prereqs in 2 years but by the time i finished application period was over so I wasted a year waiting to apply. At this rate I should have my PHD already.

One year. I already had a bachelors so most of my pre-reqs were done. I only had to do my science courses.

Welcome, Carys. You really only need to post a question like this in one forum location rather than several. Pre-nursing Student or Nursing Student is fine. Generally people read multiple forums.

I'm 34 and just graduated. I have slowly been going since high school. I changed majors a few times, and started actual prereqs in 2006, took time off in '07 and '08 (got married, had a baby), and started nursing school in '12.

4 years technically, since I earned a Bachelor's that happened to have all the prereqs required for the nursing school I applied to. :) However, I probably could have finished in 1 year if I solely focused on the prereqs as a full-time student.

I split up my sciences to just have one each semester (and took English the same semester I took anatomy) so I got them done within 3 semesters.

I saw people trying to take two sciences per semester and personally I didn't feel like overwhelming myself...I wanted to be able to focus on each of them to get the best grade possible.
