Nov 9, 201015 yr alegria vs. sketchers shapeupscan anyone please help me narrow this down?they need to be all white leather, i would prefer not clogs, im not a fan.i have a skinny foot and high arch
Dec 8, 201015 yr I would take Alegria over Shapeups any time. But since you are not a fan of clogs, and Alegria doesn't offer a lot of choices on white leather shoes except Debra, the only shoe style that comes in white leather.http://www.alegriashoes.com/products/Debra-Professional-White-Leather.html (Don't quote me if I am wrong ) If you are not a fan of that style, then it only leaves you to Shapeups. But from the store owner I bought my Alegrias from, she told me Alegria is coming out with a new Mary Jane style in white leather next fall. If you like Alegria, it may be worth the wait.
Dec 9, 201015 yr I can be clumsy and twist my ankles easy. I have dansko's (ingrid?, has a back strap). They are very comfy, no foot - back - or leg pain. But, I twist my foot easy. Would Alegria's be better? The heel doesn't seem as high.

Dec 10, 201015 yr :redbeathe sorry for your feet ..but the dansko shoes are just heavenly!!!!:lol2::heartbeat:redbeathe:heartbeat:redbeathe:up:
Jan 15, 201115 yr Experts I bought both Alegria & Shape Ups, I HATE the alegrias they are not comfy at all. I wore them once and they ahve been in my closet since. the Shape ups are super comfy, but the wear out after about 4 months.
Jan 15, 201115 yr Alegrias are amazing. I got the Feliz - they still have the mild rocker outsole, but they aren't as high. I wanted a pair that weren't clogs, these are a cute Mary Jane style. I don't like shoes that have too much of a heel on them because I'm clumsy. The footbed is amazing - cork and memory foam. Cushy but with plenty of arch support. I hate the Shapeups...and they are banned at my facility now because two girls hurt their feet wearing them - one fractured her metatarsals, and one twisted her ankle.
Jan 16, 201115 yr For those of you that have Alegrias.. Did you like them right when you got them or did it take alittle while? I bought sme and tryed them on around the house then boxed them up to send back.. Are they better when they are broken in or is they way they come the way they stay? They just seem so hard on the bottoms with that big hard plastic base..
Jan 19, 201115 yr My Alegrias were pretty comfortable immediately. BUT, the insole does form to your foot with wear. If you find them hard though, they probably aren't for you. They never felt hard to me at all, just supportive, with a cushy insole.
Jan 22, 201115 yr I have white pair of leather skechers I started with to try them out and fell in love with them. In addition to being a floor nurse, I walk several miles a week for exercise. I can keep on going like the duracel bunny and feel no pain. I got a second pairof black leather skechers (anti skid) and love them equally!! I have had the 1 st pair for a year now, throw them in the washing machine and dry them in front of the ref. I will get more of them. My legs, back and feet never felt better. Even quit wearing support hose ... I recommend shape ups over any shoe I have EVER worn. I love them for what they do for my body.
Jan 26, 201115 yr If you have a low arch and a flatter and wider foot, the Work Skechers "XW" rockers might be exactly right. But I don't think they will be as good a fit for a higher arch and a long and narrow foot. I think that the regular Shape-Ups are too high and have stability problems. Alegrias have way too much molded arch for my feet, plus I want a laced shoe only, not anything else. And not a backless or strap-back clog.Skechers http://www.skechers.com/style/76455/shape-ups-x-wear-slip-resistant-register/blk#Color=WHT "SKECHERS Shape-ups XW Slip Resistant" is a rocker but it's a low rocker and is really stable. XW means a lower rocker, and I'm not sure what else. The regular rockers are appreciably higher and feel more tippy, at least in a size 6. I tried on a pair of these Work XWs at the Skechers store tonight, and brought two pairs home. They are 100% stable, even hopping and running. No tipping or rolling. The rocker, at this low height, takes the stress off my plantar fascia, very nicely. I am a running shoe devotee' and I have been searching everywhere for a white leather running shoe in women's 5.5 -6, and these Skechers are about as close as I can get, since nobody makes a white leather running shoe anymore. Nike Shox are rock hard and not shaped right for my foot. Way overrated, imo. Felt like a cheap Payless plastic shoe. Honestly. Some more observations about these Work-series XD Skechers:They run about 1/2 size smaller, so order 1/2 size larger than your shoe size. They have a wide toe box, which I love. The footbed is shaped much closer to a running shoe type of footbed that is any other white leather fitness shoe or Easy Spirit that I tried. The insert that comes with these shoes is very well padded.I have low arches, and the arch of these shoes is just perfect for me: Neither flat, nor too high. The rocker, you really don't notice. If you deliberately rock all the way back on your heel, maybe, but these shoes are designed for less rock motion and more security. I'm not at all convinced that the rubber soles are any grippier, but they are flatter and lower than the regular Shape-Ups series.Skechers also has a Tone-Ups line, copying the Reebok EasyTone type of sole and footbed. Unfortunately, all of them are mesh shoes in colors. There is no all-leather Tone-Up, not yet at least.I can't find any all-leather Reebok EasyTones or whateverTones anymore, either. Lady Footlocker might have the only one, and a review of it said it was too narrow in the toe box and not designed right.
