Hi everyone. I have a quick question and am needing some advice.

I just moved and am in the process of unpacking, painting etc. I have been actively watching job openings online for 2 seperate hosptials in my new area. Yesterday I noticed an opening that would be perfect for me and my family. I called them to see if it was really what I wanted, and it is. Now here is the problem, I dont have my resume up to date, I mentioned this to the nurse recruiter and she said to come in and apply anyway. I really want this job and hoped to make a good first impression...so do I hurry and update my resume and then also apply or do I just go in and apply. How important is my resume??

This is my second job since graduating college and I wouldnt have ever even thought of job hunting again so soon if it werent for having to relocate. (My hubby is in the militiary)

Fill out the application. Take a couple of copies of your new resume to your interview. No big deal.

Apply, apply! Employers are bound to the application, not the resume. You would have to fill one out anyway. State that you'll follow-up with your new resume. Good Luck!

Go apply. Then asap update your resume and send the new one along. If you do your resume on the computer it should take you less than an hour. You may want to try to update it before hand. Good luck!

I agree with KristinWW...apply first and get it done before the job goes to someone else who got in ahead of you. Employers look at the resume for interest but the app is the real meat. And you would have to fill out the app anyway. Afterwards, update your resume and send it along. Note on the app that your resume is available on request but send it without waiting for them to request it. Good luck!!!

This is also an excellent reminder for all of us to keep our resumes up-to-date as part of our routine. Two things I do yearly - that and check my credit report.

BTW - checking out your subtitle - hope you're not still in misery! :) Being in a military family is never easy. Thankfully, you are in a field where you will have work no matter where you go. Best of luck!

Definitely fill out the application!! You can always either send the updated one later, or bring it with you on your interview. Don't forget the page of references, either!!
