First clinical rotation

when is your first clinical rotation of this semester and where will you be?

Featured Replies

I start clinical on the 19th ( 1 week from today!!!!! ) I am sooo nervous!!! We will be at a local LTC facility.

Lisa :)

My first rotation begins in two weeks. I believe some near or on the 26th of September and we will be doing our first rotation on the extended care floor. In our hospital we have SNF unit a Skilled Nursing Facility. We will work directly with the elderly patients. I am so excited.

My clinical rotation started the first week of class---we started Aug. 26. My group is on a med-surg floor.

My first clinical this semester is next week. I'll be on a Med-Surg floor at one of the smaller hospitals here. We have been told that we will see a little bit of everything because they don't have the specialty floors that some of the big hospitals have.

We don't get into the LTC until after 6 weeks of skills lab... this is only first semester and we all have to learn up to and including Foley's and straights. Then they turn us loose on the poor patients... lol.

We haven't been given our assignments yet -- some of the students are still turning in their physical exam / titers. I was astounded that people could turn them in late, but then this happened to me too:

The clinic they sent all of us uninsured's to messed up on the labs required and didn't get all the draws needed. The facilities require MMR titers, all 3, and the clinic only ran the rubella. I got the draw for the other two last week, and found out today that my titer shows no immunity to mumps! I got an MMR today. I seem to have lost my immunity, or their lab erred!

I'm being turned loose tomorrow ! The site is only 20 min. from my house, so I'm really glad for that ! But of course I will leave 45 min. before just in case, I'm so anal about that..lol.. Just packed a lunch ! probably be too nervous to eat..lol.

Removing nail polish now !:p

Everyone have a good day tomorrow !
