Hi, is it possible to work summers only as an RN while continuing my education for a masters program in nursing or whatever degree during the Fall and Spring semester?
I just want to know if maybe someone has done this before.

You could try doing a flex or contract position. Around here some hospitals offer 13 week contracts. Best part is that they pay a lot more since benefits aren't included.

You could also do camp nursing if you wish to work only during the summer. Many camps are open only during the summer months and utilize nurses for a multitude of issues that can arise.

As long as your employer is cool with the arrangement, why not?
But not sure many facilities would be willing to go for it.
Good luck!

Yes, I did see camp nursing. I am in VA, but the pay came out to around $10 an hour. It included room and board. Not worth it $10. I need something close by home and $20 or more pay per hour.
I might just try the hospitals near me and also my school VCU.

Hi, what area are you in and where can I search these positions? I am in VA specifically Fredericksburg, but drive to go to school in RIchmond VCU.

OP do you have experience? I doubt anyone would hire you to train you all summer to have you just leave, but if you have experience and require a short orientation, you can probably just work summers or prn.
No, I graduate next year, but I have been working at the hospital as a CNA.
I will just apply everywhere and see what happens.
Does anyone think being a male nurse also would make a difference?
Don't think gender will make a difference in this situation.

Summer camps will hire nurses or paramedics.
