Why are X so Y?

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!?

For example: I saw a(n) X last week and s/he was so Y to me, I couldn't believe it! It was great/horrible! I can't believe the fantastic/horrendous experience I had. All the (nouns) on that floor are (adjectives). I make their lives easier/harder. Shouldn't they be nicer/meaner to me?

Whargarbl. People are great/suck. Don't act so surprised.

I saw a thread last week and it was so funny to me, I couldn't believe it! It was great! I can't believe the fantastic experience I had. All the threads on that site are hilarious. I make their lives funnier. Shouldn't they be funnier to me?

 I'm at a loss...

X so Y? Is that female is so male?

I must be missing something...

It's a joke!

I assume pockunit is replying, in part, to the thread "Why are ICU nurses so rude?". The point is that there are a lot of threads on AN like this. Today, it's ICU nurses being rude. Tomorrow, it could be CNA's being so lazy, or nursing students being so annoying/clueless, or ER nurses giving such bad reports or.........

I assume you get the picture?

The point is that generalizations are silly!

(and I hasten to add, since otherwise someone is sure to flame me, that I don't think CNA's are lazy, nursing students annoying and clueless, or that ER nurses give bad reports. Those are just examples of other threads one sees on AN -- repeatedly!)

Why are floor nurses so lazy *snicker*

I joke I joke.

OK, I'll play your fun game!

I saw a gorilla last week and she was so surly to me, I couldn't believe it! It was horrible! I can't believe the horrendous experience I had. All the pandas on that floor are copacetic. I make their lives easier. Shouldn't they be nicer to me?

I saw an ex-boyfriend last week and he was so SWEET to me, I couldn't believe it! It was great! I can't believe the fantastic experience I had. All the other ex-girlfriends on that floor are so shallow! I make their lives harder. Shouldn't they be MEANER to me?

;)

OP, that was brilliant!

Thanks! I needed a laugh. Yeah, I guess it's incredibly easy to over-generalize. I know I'm guilty of it in my first ever thread post.

Hahha! Yes OP, this is true, you really can fill in the variables with whatever you want and the world may never know the answer. Despite my recent post about the ICU nurses being rude (over generalizing, I know, but just a rant nonetheless). We're all guilty! ;)

That was great...and I loved the tip of the hat to Mad Libs....I used to LOVE that as a kid...hilarious!:D
