Who's Getting a Flu Shot?

The hospital I work at as a CNA gave me my flu shot for free!! When the H1N1 shots become available we will be able to receive those as well for free too!

In a few weeks, definitely yes!

I got my flu shot at employee health for free. I'm not interested in the H1N1 vaccine.

I am not getting the flu shot (I did once about seven years ago and it turned out to be the wrong strain) and definitely not the H1N1. I think it goes back to having been in the military and being forced to get every shot there was under the sun, including bubonic plague. If I get the flu, I've got the sick leave to cover it.

I really don't want to, but I am considering it because I don't want to contract H1N1 as a carrier and bring the bug home from work to my family or anyone for that matter. Hmmm... what to do??

No for both. My job is making all of us go to our doctors and be tested for H1N1. I have until the end of the month to bring them a note saying I don't have H1N1.

Yes, I will certainly be getting the flu shot, both of them if they become available. It seems like they are hard to get around here.

Bottom line, I can not afford to miss school or work due to illness.

the chances of anyone I know dieing of swine flu or regular flu for that matter are slim to none, a friend's dad died of complication of Guillan-Barret syndrome from a flu vaccine... no shots for me or mine!

i almost got one free at the facility that i work at the other day, the nurse told me that i might feel "yucky" for a couple days after and she scared me away from getting it. i want to get it but i am scared that i will get sick after and i cant afford that either. maybe i will go get it tomorrow, feelin like crap for a couple days is alot better then feeling that way for 2 weeks!

I had the seasonal flu vaccine the day it was avail. Can't wait to get the H1N1- 2 more weeks from what I hear. We currently have between 60-90 patients with flu/poss pneumonia on our medical floors. It is spreading like wildfire and I see a lot less risk in getting the vaccine than getting the H1N1 flu! As for those people who "never get the flu, so they never get the shot" it's frightening how easily this virus is being transmitted- get your H1N1 shot! Even if you recover- which is most likely, do you want to take a chance of giving it to your daughter or grandson and having him die! It's killing young children and pregnant young women. If you can be sure you will not be in contact with any young children or pregnant women, or anyone who may be in contact with them, then sure- skip the shot. Bet unless you are going to live in a cave for the rest of the winter you are risking spreading a dangerous virus to vulnerable people. As health care workers we need to set the example.
