I know when going for active duty you go to the MEPS/physical pretty early on in your application process. If you go USPHS, when and where do you go for your physical?
Thanks!

You can choose to go to a MEPS, or your own private physician-at your own cost. You can go anytime you like, but you cannot get orders until you are medically cleared, so-the earlier you go, the better. But there is no "set time." You have to clear all three areas nursing board, security, and medical to be complete.

Are the physical requirements and weight restrictions the same as for active duty?
Yes; you must meet weight requirements, or meet body fat percenatges as calculated by the Navy method. If you do not, you still can get in, you just will be on a limited medical tour for a specified amount of time, which will give you time to get your weight within control. You will be required to make progress at specific intervals. I know all this because I am anemic, and I am over their weight standards by six pounds. But I met the body fat percentage requirements. I am on a limited medical tour for the anemia.

im 5'4" and the 140lbs. the max is 163lbs for my height, would they make a big deal out of that like tell me to gain some weight or am i fine as it is?
No. As long as you dont pass the limit, youre fine.
I think its 10% within the weight standards

@BSN317, is your service done after the limited medical tour? do they get to review your condition after a set amount of time? what are the chances that you can get approved to join without restrictions after your limited medical tour?

I actually pieced together my physical from a free hearing test from a hearing aid place, the eye exam from my optometrist and got my physical from a "doc in a box". All was covered by my insurance...but don't count out the hearing aid centers for free hearing tests!

Hello everyone,
I used a USAF physical that I done within 1 year and pieced together the PPD and hearing tests. However, I still went and say my PCP and had updated CBC completed. The USAF physical was pretty thorough.
Viper...I noticed in one of your old posts..you mentioned that you had a couple of blips on your credit report....well so do I, but they have all been resolved...I am just wondering how it has been going for you.
I have completed my professional board, waiting on response for medical......and waiting on background check....
Professional board is done, Medical is done, wrote a letter for a couple of blips on my credit record....still waiting on security, I am kinda getting tied of waiting. My report date is Apr 12th...what's killing me is I just heard that they have just started looking at my security packet on thurs...I just want it done.
