Visa Screen

  • Experts

To all of you that hope to work in the US:

1. Complete Visa Screen paperwork as soon as possible. This will be a requirement starting in July, so think how much busier CGFNS is going to get.

2. Whoever tells you not to worry about English, just go to California and take the NCLEX exam, is 100% wrong. Sure, you can get a license but none of the hospitals are hiring without you being able to pass your English exams. Especially the "Speaking" section. Unless your idea of working in the US is to be doing something other than being a nurse. Plus then you would no longer have 2 years of current work experience.

3. So please keep all of this in mind when you decide to listen to a recruiter. You should come first, not putting money in their pockets. Think of what you really want to be doing....................

4. Finally, in order to get a Visa Screen certificate to take to the Embassy, you must have English skills equivalent to that of a native speaker. It can be done, but you will have to put the time and effort into it.

Good luck to all of you and may you be successful in your goals.

You need to have Florida provide verification to ICHP, just that simple.

You cannot endorse until you actually have a SSN#, and go thru the immigration process, but that is nothing to worry about, as you will need the SSN# for CA to issue you a license also.

You can get an employer in CA, and then endorse when you have completed the process.

Sorry sorry sorry.... I did not get it :uhoh3: How do the passing (optimism) results go from NYBON to CGFNS Visa Screen? I cannot believe I had to ask this again; sorry. Geena

You have to have NY submit them.. You can use the same form that was included for license verification, and have NY submit that for you. NY does charge a fee for doing this.

Same form as licence verification - NYBON submits to CGFNS. Clear! Of course... now am embarrassed - it is another licence...

Thank You!!!!! Geena

Sorry everyone, but after reading all the threads on visa screen, I am still not clear.

(1) Once I get the visa sceen, which immigration form do I fill to apply for green card, is it I-140 filed by me?

(2) For the employer (texas) to file I-140, they would require NCLEX, but without the SS#, can they offer me a job?

(3) I think, I am wondering if I can get a green card based on visa screen without a US nursing job while in a foreign country.

Please help!

GC has to be filed by a lawyer either paid by your employers or yourself. You do have to have your employers details on your application for GC so in answer to no3 No you will not get a greencard without a US nursing job and employers will offer a job without SSN but will need SSN details once you are in the US and have been to register as without it you can't work

so what is the role of 'visa screen' ? If I pass neclex and get a job, then can't I just get the visa without 'visa screen'?????????????

the visa screen is to confirm with immigration that you meet the criteria for the GC ie have passed NCLEX or CGFNS exam, pass english exams etc

hi everyone! does visa screen require a local license? is it possible, ever that a prospect employer will ever sponsor me a visa even without an extensive hospital experience?? just passed the nclex and ielts fyi., but never got d chance to be exposed in a hosp for am not a license holder

LOL...same sentiments for the CGFNS..sad thing they handle the visa screen processing..

i think we should create another thread on how they work things out..i myself had a bad experience with them.;p

visa screen certificate does not require a local license. it only requires that you pass either the cgfns exam or the nclex-rn exam and the series of english exams.

that is it.

cgfns is handles via cgfns, visa screen is handled thru ichp. for every bad experience that someone posts about, there are hundreds that have had no issue. and sorry to tell you that 90% of all of the issues actually happened to have been caused by the nurse, nothing to do with cgfns at all. usually related to a wrong birthdate, a wrong middle initial or name on a document, wrong dates for attending nursing school placed on the application, etc. if they would have been done properly and checked before being sent in, none of these issues would even come up. and they can take months to fix.

this thread is concerning visa screen certificate and that only. pleae stick to the original post. you will find others here concerning cgfns. vsc is handled thru ichp, which has a different staff, address, and even phone numbers from the cgfns staff.
