Visa Screen

Hi everyone,

I've just recently passed the NCLEX exam for Vermont and thus soon to apply for visa screen. I know for the fact that IELTS is among the requirements for this to take place. I just wondered is there a specific passing rate or grade that I should obtain in order to qualify for my application? Also, how long does it take for the visa screen to be process considering the retrogression that is actually happening at the moment?

Many thanks!

no the medical exam is required for immigration but not when applying for visa screen

It took me 1.5 months to get the VSC. What can delay you is if you haven't passed any exam yet or your school is too slow in sending the Transcripts.

What I did was to pass all the exams first and then, asked the school to send the papers using express courier service. I paid for the courier service myself. Since my school is already registered in CGFNS, meaning there were applicants from the same school in the past, it took only few days for CGFNS to review the transcripts.

As to the local license, make sure you got it as well sent by your local BON and the proof of passing NCLEX from the BON of the State, if applicable. English exam is easy. Just input your candidate number in the system, they got it already.

hi there! i applied online since feb. in my status, the only thing that i lack is my verification of license (local), i was a june2006 passer, i waived my license and took the local boards again last june2007. the status that stated that i only lack local board verification which before i did not indicate coz i knew we will not be given visascreen..is since last april or may. so this time, cgfns kept emailing me for my local board verification which i cannot do it at the moment for the reason that results are not yet out.

can you predict how many months i will get my visascreen assuming that results will be out next week or two?

thanks

In my case, they were waiting for english score. After they receive it, it was approved in 3 days and ready to be delivered.

They will wait for your license. Assuming you fail, you can write a letter (e-mail) to CGFNS that you failed and did not have a license. If you passed, you have to wait until your license is received and then ask the BON to send the verification to CGFNS. Accompany it with a letter explaining why you did not indicate it in your application.

It will take you 1.5 to 2 months to get your VSC.

Yup, if the English exam is the only thing lacking, it is easy as they have access to the database of IELTS and once you input your name, candidate number, date of exam taken, CGFNS can easily verify it automatically. It will take only a few days.

Not correct. If you fail, they are not going to issue you a VSC, you are going to need to provide proof that you passed the NLE exam. If you never took the NLE to begin with, then not an issue. But since you did write it, you need to pass it before they will issue you a VSC.

Look at it from the otherside, if you were the US government or an employer over here: Would you want to hire a nurse that took their own country's licensing exam but were unable to pass it?

And that is why the passing score is required by CGFNS before they will issue the VSC. Failing it is not an option, they know exactly who wrote the exam, and who passed. Your country actually posts the results in every form of media in your country. There are many that are also waiting for the results.

I just finished paying the fee for the VisaScreen a few minutes ago, I finally got everything mailed out this afternoon. Please pray for me that everything gets approved.

Does CGFNS need to have a copy of my NCLEX test results?? I dont even have those...all i got in the mail was my license with a paper that said I passed, but no scores. I sent the request for validation of license to the BON so that should be enough no?

You do not send results to CGFNS as long as you have paid and completed form for BON to send results then that is all you need to do

Thanks. i just really hope the school goes through with sending the form with the transcript...you just never know, especially since i used to work there, i know how these people are.

Now, i dont need to take the English exam, cuz my schooling was in english, but the VS website still says waiting on scores, that should get cleared when they get the form stating that my school was in english right?

i know i know, lots of questions..i just want to make sure i did it right. lol
