UTMB FALL 2014

I would like to start a thread for UTMB FALL 2014 since there I cannot find one. I am in the process of applying and this is the only school I am applying to. Right now, I just trying to finish my personal statement before I can submit it. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. So, how is everyone else doing?

@Texas02 That is great you got supplemental application!!When did you submitted your application? How long after did you received your supplemental application?
I submitted my application last night on NursingCAS at around 11:35pm and I got my supplemental application today at 3:03pm and filled it out, added my word "a" where it was missing in my personal statement and paid the fee and submitted it at 4:54pm today. (Right now it's Jan 6 8:50pm. My AllNurses time stamps are off I might need to change something in my settings.)

I submitted my application on January 5th at 6:00am, and I haven't recieved anything. Now I am nervous.

And unless I am misreading something... There are people who have already gotten accepted to start in Fall of 2014. How?! They don't have the entire application pool to make cut offs?!

There is an early admissions pool they choose from. My cousin got in that way. He just graduated in the December class though and is back home in Houston studying for his nclex.

I accidentally clicked money order to pay for my application for NursingCAS and now I'm freaking out. My GPA is pretty average, I took my classes at A&M College Station Overall GPA is 3.3 and Science GPA is 3.25. TEAS V overall is 91.3 so I hope that really balances out my GPA.

Does anyone know how long it take for NursingCAS to calculate our GPA? Because they received my transcripts like 3 weeks ago and still there is no GPA yet. I am a little bit worry now.

I called them yesterday and nursingCas told me I can submit my application as long as I have everything without the transcripts and gpa being processed yet. I also called utmb to ask if they are processed after the deadline date if my application would be in jeopardy and the guy was really nice and told me it wouldn't be my fault if they are processed late so just make sure you keep checking up on the schools and make sure that they get processed in a reasonable time.

I know there's no possible way for the letter and or email of acceptance or denial coming so soon, but I swear I feel like the whole Pavlov dog and bell scenario, every time I hear my iPhone make a ding that I have a new email I check it right away. Then I think, how much of a nerd I must be to be comparing myself to the Pavlov dog and bell scenario... and it actually working on me.

So... Are you saying that our application will still be considered at UTMB even if our transcript isn't received by nursingcas on the January 15th deadline?

Yes! I called to check because mine aren't processed either. He reassured me that that's out of my control if it's like a week late but just follow up on the transcripts just in case they never arrive. If you want to check yourself you should call, they are very helpful!

At the information session they said they look at both scores. They are both taken into consideration I remember them saying. However, I think that would only be a disadvantage to you if you scored lower the second time you took it.

I just called and the guy said that when they gather both scores and the application, they put the higher one with the application. So, the admissions people only see the higher score.

Oh well that is cool! I had no idea. Thank you.

Well that's good! Someone in my information session just asked that question, and they responded with "We look at both scores."

But it makes more sense for them to look at the higher score, especially since they allow you to take it twice. The answer you received seems more reasonable.
