I have applied to UTHSCSA and UIW Fall 2018... is there anyone else who is applying or has sent in their apps?? What are your stats?

Hello all!

Just found this thread to see if anyone had received a letter yet! I got an acceptance to TWU Houston yesterday and reserved my spot there just in case.

I'm also waiting to hear back from UTHealth Houston.

Good luck to everyone! :)

I heard TLU is a good school... i didn't have all the pre-reqs for them. I was off by spanish for healthcare and speech. So i didn't apply. I live like 10 miles from the school though lol

I am two classes short too. The alamo colleges didn't offer pathology or medical Spanish but I've set it up with them to take it in the summer before I start the program. I was pretty much done this semester, but decided to make TLU my secondary school so now I am at 5 classes. But it's not too bad. I heard it was a good school too but it is pretty far from me. About an hour and even worse with traffic. UT is closer.

Hey guys! Just checking in on you! Try to hang in there - I know the wait seems ridiculous, but there are so many applications for them to get through (our class had over 900, which is always lower than fall applications). Either way you'll know in a week and a half!

Hey, Jen! When you did your hep b series did you have to be done by registration or is it okay to get the last dose after school starts? I'm trying to decide whether to start my regular series this week or get the TWINRIX combo.

I *think* as long as you've started the series, you'll be okay, but you really should check with Josh. You'll get all the info with the acceptance letters.

I'm guessing if I haven't heard back from UIW that I didn't get accepted. I thought I'd at least get a rejection letter :/

You should call them! I've read on previous blogs that they sometimes misplace things or skip over something's. I would definitely give them a call because I found out 2 weeks ago.

What do you have to do after acceptance?

What do you have to do after acceptance?

All that information will be in the packet you're sent with your welcome email.

You have to complete the vaccination form (signed by your physician), complete some online training, send over a copy of your BLS card, send a copy of your blue card from the Texas BoN and stuff like that. There's a lot to do after acceptance, and a lot of deadlines.

I called UT yesterday and they said the EARLIEST they'll have decisions out by is April 2nd. She said they may move the date out further again :nailbiting:

Dang! Did they say why??

No. I assume because there is a lot of applicants.
