UTA Spring 2012

Will do... Am downtown Dallas so I thought mine would be here by now too... But then I realized that when I applied I lived in a different apt number than I now do... Soooo that's maybe why it's taking a lil longer (I hope). mail forwarding even to a different apt number in the same complex can delay mail an extra day or so...

Hi everyone! I'm so glad to have found this site. I applied to UTA for

Spring 2012 and sadly was denied. Unfortunately I think it's because I'm not partnered. But I dont even know what that is and havent heard of it until reading on this site! I'm kind of upset that I have never heard of it after all the time ive spent talking w/ advisors and that it is possibly the reason I wasnt accepted. Can someone give me some info about this please?!

I emailed Mrs. Todd and asked her if tests 1-5 questions, and the new stuff would be on the final. Her answer was if I studied these things, I should be fine.

congra to all who got accepted. I have small questions to ask: how do we register for the orientation and i am not clear about the background check? HOw do thsi work out?

@Julie1451 - my advisor told me we shoudl get somethign in EPIC learning system that has information on orientation. If it is not there or we haven't heard anything by December 1 I would just give them a call maybe? I did talk to the lady over the AP scheduling and she said that most likely clinicals will contiue to be on Saturday & Sunday & we will have proctored exams on campus on Thursday's. She was verifying if this would stay true but is pretty sure it will continue like this as they have done previous semesters.

I think for background checks we just log into the website the orange piece of paper says and pay for it and have it sent to UTA. But I am not for sure as I haven't got to far on doing this just yet.

I have no ideas about EPIC learning system. All I recieved in the was three paper. One of them was the paper which as ask do we want to accept the to be in the programs. I already sign that and turn in back. I dont have any information so far about orientation or prodoctor that you said. Are you in the traditional program too? Do you know what do we need to do?

I am talking about the Fast Track Ap program, not the traditional in class. Sorry for confusion!

Anyone that got accepted to the APBSN program partnered w/ Cook Children's or JPS?

I have a question for all you partnered applicants...did your hospital require a certain length of employment before you could apply? I've had a couple days to weigh all my options and I'm still trying to see if getting a job at a partnering hospital would be something I need to consider. How many of you partnered people plan to continue working during school? Thanks!!

There is no requirement with hospitals about how long you've worked for them in order to apply for the APBSN program. There are requirements within each hospital about how long you have to work for them before they will pay for your school. For example, THR hospitals pay for everything, but you have to agree to work for them for 2-5 years after you graduate. With my hospital, Cook Children's, I have to work for them for six months before they will do a tuition reimbursement. I also have to maintain a certain grade point average.

@tejas03 you can apply for the APBSN program through your partner facility at any time once you work there. For THR you just contact the education department and they send you the application forms and then you send them back to the THR education department and they forward them on to UTA for you. You have to have you manager's approval on the forms for the application so it shows the unit's support of you going back to school so be upront in interviewing that you want to go to nursing school as you will need them to sign forms for your application.

I am planning on working full time, 3 12 hour shifts a week while doing the AP program. The recommend only 20 hrs a week but for financial reasons I am going to need to stay full time to keep my benefits & my full time tuition reimbursement amounts.
