Nov 7, 201213 yr I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.
Jul 15, 201312 yr Hey fellow nurses!I just got accepted into UTA's RN-BSN program online. Any advice? I start my first round of pre-requisites next month, then dive right on into the first class in October. I have my plan tentatively mapped out to be finished around Sept or Oct of next year. I was scoping for textbooks on the bookstore's website for the first nursing class (NURS 3645) and it doesn't look like there is one? Anywho, glad to meet y'all!

What classes are you taking? I need English 1302 before I can start Technical Writing. I plan on taking Professional Nursing A/B along with Technical Writing in October. I have quite a few prereqs that I will be doing during the program so I won't be finishing up until February 2015 or so. I am just waiting on my academic advisor to clear the academic hold on my account so I can register. I am super excited to start.
Jul 16, 201312 yr Was just informed all spots are full. Also there are some people who got accepted and still have 3-4 prereqs to complete... Confused on how they got in over someone with all pre-reqs complete... So like I said earlier, it will be interesting to see how many waitlisted people they admit...
Jul 17, 201312 yr Well, she said I could sign up for BSN nursing courses. I was confused too. Candice just clarified that she was calling to start registering for classes if I did not have the pre-requisites done. I'm sorry for the confusion. I also think its weird but theirs nothing I can do. I have a interview with Baylor Irving on thursday. I am trying my hardest. Sometimes, its easy to say just wait. But, I can't just do nothing. I am applying also for TWU and other nursing programs. I am finishing up nutrition. I have to take the TEAS test.
Jul 17, 201312 yr From what I hear almost all the people I talk to are wait-listed. I wonder how many people are actually wait-listed in the DFW area. My advisor said it is more competitive in the fall vs. the spring.

Jul 17, 201312 yr Did you take your prereqs online via UTA? If so, I would love to know how easy/hard they are and are they doable online. Especially the math/sciences. I don't really have a science background so I'm really nervous. Thanks

I am just waiting on my academic advisor to clear the academic hold on my account so I can register. I am super excited to start.I'm starting with Statistics, Technical Writing and the 1st Nursing class (Professional nursing?). I still have a history class, the 2 government classes and a literature class for my pre-reqs. I think my plan is to take 12-15 credits a semester until I'm done...while working full time, 4 days a week! Good luck to you, maybe you'll be in a couple of my classes!
Jul 18, 201312 yr I took my prereqs at UTA online. At first, it was tough. I am a in-class student however, I had to adapt really quick. You cannot have computer errors or computer problems. You have to manage your time and be able to teach yourself the material. That was not the problem for me. Algebra and statistics were easy. I would suggest taking those at a community college. As far as pharm and patho I would not take those two together. At first I signed up for them at the same time then I emailed my professor. She did not suggest to take those with the course work load I had at the time. I took Mrs. Stephens for patho and Ms. Furr for pharm. Both, great professors that are willing to help. If you have questions let me know. I know what your going through.

Do not take govt 1 online at UTA. I am in the class now and the format is awful. Quizzes are 20 questions in 20 mins. An there are 2 a week. Just not formatted for nursing students... We tend to dissect questions and 60 seconds barely gives me time to know what is being asked for goodness sake. . Final is 140 questions in 140 mins. I have a C. Prior to this I had a 3.67.... I will have to retake it cause I still have to take the final and based on previous reads of professor reviews... It is impossible to score any higher than any of your previous qui grades
