UTA Fall 2013

I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

Yes I am.

Awesome! I love that it makes it easier to attend school and work. It is great for those of us already working. A different route but as long as the end result is the same....good luck!!!!

Thank you. Unfortunately, I think I might get denied because I didn't have their health professions class done even though I've taken all of UTA's pre-reqs and I'm a PCT at THR and should have that class waived but we will see.

Yes... That class is required but they have an eportfolio class and an assessment class that only requires lab 4 times for those working in a healthcare setting. Working on getting set up for it in the fall.

Well I saw one of the forms that needed to be completed and one page was proof how you assess a patient in your current position which PCT's don't do. That is a nurse's role. So I don't know how I'll get credit in that class.

I wondered that too. I do not assess patients. What THR are you at?

Southwest. I got a denial letter today but I was denied because it says I didn't take speech (which I have), my HESI scores were on two different sheets (which I was told would be fine because I had took the AP portion only at a different school because that's all they wanted in addition to my other scores since UTA only requires math and English) and that health professions class which should have been waived because I've taken comparable pre-reqs at UTA and I'm a PCT. So I left a voicemail to the director but was told she won't be back til Monday. We will see what happens.

I spoke with THR education and the class is required despite being a PCT :(

That's who I spoke with too. They said it could be waived if I had a job description of my title and if they didn't approve it then I would take some $100 course that is 6 weeks long. So I assumed by taking pre-reqs that UTA requires before their nursing program like intro to professional nursing plus the fact I'm a PCT then it would be waived.

Those of you who will be entering nursing school at UTA on-campus, do you know which access code (Version 2.0 or 3.0) do we need for N3632: Clinical Nursing Foundations. The access code is called "Nursing Skills Online for Fundamentals of Nursing by Potter & Perry". Have been asking around but no one has replied.

the required access code version is 3.0, ISBN 9780323100540. I do not know the differences between 2.0 and 3.0 so I don't know if buying the 2.0 version would be okay.

Was just informed all spots are full.
