Nov 7, 201213 yr I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.
Jun 23, 201313 yr About immunizations (on-campus BSN), if your titer comes out negative for HepA, will I have to get the series of vaccines all over again? With HepA, because it is 2 vaccines, the second cannot be given until 6 months after the first...if I get my first vaccine this week, what happens due to the fact that I will have to wait 6 months to get the second vaccine (I'll already be in nursing school though)?
Jun 23, 201313 yr If you had the titer showing immunity, you should not have to be immunized again. I have not had the third shot of the series yet (TwinRix - Hep A/B combo) and cannot have it done until October. I asked the CON about this, and I was told that it is fine as long as you are in the process.

I think Hep B has to be complete though.
Jun 28, 201313 yr Nothing yet. And I've emailed them and I am told that if they have available spots that the next person on the list will be called. So... nothing.
Jun 30, 201313 yr BTW if its the same adventist school I think your talking about their passing grade is a B unlike UTA's C so getting in isnt the problem its staying in
Jun 30, 201313 yr That is the same school yes. There policy change mid-year last year. That plus some other reasons are why I would rather go to UTA or TCU.
Jul 1, 201313 yr I've been working at Cooks for a year now and as PRN at THR Southwest for 3 months since I'm not taking classes right now.

Jul 1, 201313 yr Yes and no. Employees of the hospital they work at are ranked and chosen from that applicant pool first (typically each hospital has 10 spots reserved for their employees). Once their hospital is filled the remaining employees/applicants are put in a mass pool with all the other partnered applicants that didn't get a spot plus the non-partnered applicants. From that new pool they reevaluate the list and then fill remaining spots of other hospitals that either didn't have enough employees qualify or apply and they are needing to fill all remaining spots. That is were non-partnered applicants have a chance of getting in the academic partnership program over partnered especially if the non-partnered has a higher GPA plus the other qualifying factors.
