UTA FALL 2012

That is good to know about the clinical staff :) Thank you!I do get financial aid and I honestly can't remember when it posts for Fall. Mine has not posted yet so you're good! They haven't even had me fax my husband's tax info yet so it probably won't be for a while. It will get deposited in your bank account around the 2nd week of August. Our first semester of clinicals is soooo expensive!!! Eek!

CONGRATS Cluman!!! I am dying here waitng for our letters...Wouldn't it be cool to find out randomly! Like walk out next week and find your letter! Nikki When you go to your financial aid for this year is it posted?? Mine says nothing when you click for 2012-2013

congrats cluman for getting accepted at TWU! They have a great program! And fingers crossed the letters go out at the end of April...I am not holding my breath but that would be really cool!!!

@megreen, of course the system is down now that I have a free second to check what it says on mymav! Ugh. I will check it again in a little bit and let you know what it says exactly. The first time I ever applied for FA it was a nightmare because UTA had just gone to some sort of new system. It's a good thing that at least verbally they are saying they have your info.

Which days are you working this week? PM me if you don't want to post that here. I am doing more computer stuff on Monday for sure but on Tuesday afternoon I think I start shadowing again, and will do that the rest of next week. I'm excited to put a face to the name :) It's so weird to "get to know" people on here, having never met them.

@megreen, I was finally able to get in to the system. When I click on the year 2012-2013 it says I have no financial aid to view at this time.

Also, the schedule for when letters go out, etc says July??? That seems so late!! I hope it's wrong!

@megreen & @nikkib376, speaking of FA, are either one of you familiar with the Mav Promise grant? I know my husband recieved it for his degree in History, but I'm not sure if its the same for the AP program. I saw on the website that UTA is still issuing the grant, but no real specifics on if certain programs are excluded.

That would be so mean if they didn't. I would think surley we would know before we had to apply for the next round in June...I work Thursday Friday and Saturday. Hey everyone! My interview went well today. I didn't get to meet with Phyllis but I met with the supervisors and they were all very nice. I applied for FA and they said they will start awarding April 9th I believe. Also, I emailed my advisor today to see if it was too late to be considered for the partnership for Fall if I happened to get hired at THR, she replied and said that it was getting down to the wire and that I would need to let her know as soon as possible if I get hired on. So, that makes me think they will be making decisions soon and mailing out letters.

My fingers are crossed for you Rubyred! I wish my advisor was on top of things like yours! I just heard back from mine today and she just said well if the class is on stateu then it should be on mymav.....WTH!...Anyways...I think you will have a spot not matter if you are partnered or not! Good luck! Did Nicole or Kim say when they should hear from you?

Hello all! I have been following this forum and reading post. I too applied for Fall 2012 and waiting to hear if I am accepted. I spoke with my advisor and she said they have a new way of notifying acceptance to the program. This time it will be done by email and it will be by the end of April. I am partnered at Parkland Hospital, anyone else? I am extremely nervous!!!!!

Hello again! Well I am partnered at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. I am nervous about getting into the program looking at some of the GPA's posted I am embarrassed to post mines...lol! My science GPA IS 3.1, pre reqs GPA is 3.2, HESI scores was a 300 exactly, so I barely made it. My advisor said the HESI is just a pass or fail. Considering I've been out of college for 10 yrs now, and didn't study at all for the HESI, I did better than expected. I think I have 2 considerations because I have a BS in Biology and is parterned at Parkland Hospital. My advisor told me they save 10 spots for Parkland employees, and we are only competing with other employees. So we are are in a pool by ourselves per my advisor. I'm not quite sure how many from my hospital applied to the program, but i am praying my GPA is good enough. I didn't apply to the traditional program, because I didn't know about it. so I guess I put all my eggs in the basket with UTA:-( Is anyone on here working at Parkland that applied for Fall '12? What do you think my chances are in getting into the program? I am taking intro to Nursing and Technical Writing both on April 9th, and I have Path and Pharm in my shopping cart waiting to enroll on the 4th for the May 14th classes, then I'll be done with my pre reqs.
