for all us older nurses

i just wanted to say we are a valuable group of people. we have expirence, wrinkles , sore feet, glasses and ted hose. we are able to teach the new younger nurses how to take care of patients safely and how to do procedures correctly. we are needed. :heartbeat

yes sometimes we get crabby, but thats okay because we are human. we are worth are weight in gold and will be around a long , long time.

thank you all, we need a pat on the back once in awhile.

:yeah:

Amen... I've probably taken years off of the lives of many senior nurses who have helped me out of some tense situations in my first 2 1/2 years.

Thanks for posting this Kizzy! :heartbeat I was starting to feel VERY negative after reading some of the other posts. Think I'm going to have to go in to work tonight and hug a couple of my young coworkers for NOT being like some of the posters here!

I love older nurses. If I was able to choose my nurse.....I'd rather have an older nurse than a younger one, for sure!!!

honestly, i'm not feeling negative at all.

rather, i feel a whole bunch of pity for some of these freshies (:chuckle, love that word)...

and, their elderly pts.

furthermore, i do not feel the least bit inclined to advocate for myself, nor defend myself.

i'd gladly take on those who question and outright disrespect my abilities as a nurse.

we can do it on a unit floor, or in the alley behind the bldg.

either way, i'll take you down. :nurse:

My senior nurse mentors have been a godsend. Thank you for all that you do!

I love older nurses because they have experience. Not just nursing experience, but LIFE experience. :smokin:As the old saying goes, the older we get, the better we get!!! Can I hear an AMEN????

I loved the older nurses I spent my clinicals with!! So patient and a wealth of information!! You've put in your dues so I can put in mine...you get nothing but respect and a pat on the back from me :)
