UMB Spring 2012

Hello! I am in the process of applying for the spring 2012 semester at the Baltimore campus!! I didn't see any threads out there yet for people who are applying so I figured I'd start one :) Feel free to share gpa, TEAS scores, etc and any updates on admission!! GOOD luck to everyone!

Hey guys! I also applied to the BSN program and anxiously awaiting a decision!

I was just wondering though if someone could help me out. I only have one 'pre-req' left and it's just a humanities class which I'm currently taking. However, I am struggling to remember facts about this class(pretty much all history, not my thing!) and fear I won't get higher than a C in the class. I will still have a good GPA if I get a D in the class but will they still consider the class as being taken or do i need to pass with a C or better for those credits to apply? If anyone knows please help!

Thanks!

All prerequisites need to be a minimum grade of C. However, once you've applied, you need to get at least B's in your remaining classes.

Here's a quote from the UMB site under the BSN Admission Requirements tab:

"Please note that students admitted to the Traditional BSN Program must earn a minimum grade of "B" in any additional coursework completed prior to enrolling at the School of Nursing and must present a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 ("B") otherwise admission will be withdrawn."

So... If you are accepted, you'll need a B to keep your seat. If you are accepted and get a C, they will withdraw your admission for this spring semester, but that C can be used in your prereq list if you reapply next semester.

History is not my thing either so I didn't take any history classes on purpose. Keep trying your best though! Talk to your professor and explain the situation. Ask them what you need to do/what extra credit work you can do to get that B. Your professor might be willing to work with you. Good luck!

Hello

:uhoh3::uhoh3::uhoh3: I see everyone is quittly waiting for an answer. We need some news to fire us up litte lol or the Grey lady from previous postings. Well I guess I better find something that can help to relaxe me, may be another a glas of H2O....

Yeah I called and they said middle of november which mean I have to waist $200 to accept one of the schools offer, just incase I don't get accepted to this school

I am having a hard time understanding how you can get accepted into this program in MID-November and have to go to orientation, background check, physical, blood titers for vaccinations, TB test, CPR training; etc... all before the beginning of a January semester... in the midst of holiday season. The stress of the weeks following acceptance is more overwhelming than the wait to find out if I am even accepted.

Yea I've heard last spring it took intill December for some to find out... Well I guess it's not really up to us honestly so all we can do it wait and hope we find out soon

I just found the thread from last year and it looks like the week of 11/18 was the week last year! That means another three weeks.....Ahhhhhhhh!

Well, unfortunatly if I get in, I am probably still going to go to Towson but it would be nice to know that I was good enough to make it.

Has anyone gone through the interview portion of the CNL application process for the 2012 Spring class? If so, do you have any thoughts about it?

For those of you who did your pre-reqs at CCBC or Howard CC, what chem class did you take to meet the requirement? I attended the open house yesterday and the sheet distributed noted that an Intro chem class was not acceptable for the 4 credit chem requirement.

I took Chem 101 from HCC.

I took classes out of state but my Generl Chem 1 was accepted...it wasnt an intro class.
