UMB FALL 2011

I will be applying for the Fall 2011 program at UMB really really soon. I was wondering if anyone else was doing the same...? I'm really nervous about applying because Anatomy really kicked my butt last semester and I ended up getting a C (even though I ended up doing really well on my other science courses). Now, I'm losing hope. Anyone feeling the same?

Thank youfor the support...any guesses on when we will hear something rn to bsners?

I'd say to see when last spring and fall heard back, but I am 0/3 on getting anywhere close to a correct date, which just further shows that past cycles have little bearing on current cycles.

Spring 2011 RN-BSN students found out about a month after the BSN students.

Fall 2010 RN-BSN students also found out about a month after the BSN students.

But as I have come to realize (painfully) is that every cycle is different, so error on the side of caution and expect a bit of a wait.

Thanks for the Input you were very helpful

Congrats to all that have already gotten in! Our class also has a FB page and yes, GrayLady is a member as she still REALLY helps us out!

For those still awaiting an answer, all i can say is not to give up hope! I have been there before. For Fall'10 I had to wait until almost May to find out that i was not accepted, but then i reapplied for this Spring and was accepted in the first wave. There is always hope and another chance. *hugs*

I feel bad because I broke down and called today and bothered the poor people in the admissions office and got the answer of all applicants in all programs should be notified by the end of April. I'm sure they are sick of getting calls cause I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one I just couldn't help myself. My friend and I have both applied and are trying to plan financially for this Summer and Fall.

That is pretty much what I expected; I'm guessing it will be like last year with the first group of acceptances having 2 weeks to send in their deposit and then they go to the next group from there if people change their minds or don't get their deposit in. So it makes sense that everyone will know by the end of the month. I know I wont be obsessively checking like I was before, just going to wait and see.

At least it seems like we won't need to be checking our status online because of where they are making phone calls also. I know I have been concerned because I don't trust my mailing system haha so I have been scared a letter would "vanish" in the mail like it tends to do quite often with me.

I wonder if anyone has actually been rejected...if admissions has gone through and actually updated people's online status to "rejected" if they didn't even make a wait list. In that case, why wouldn't our statuses (those of us who haven't gotten notified yet) at least say "wait listed" so we could have SOME sort of clarity? My husband keeps telling me to be glad I haven't actually gotten rejected yet, but then I started wondering if anyone at all had been rejected yet? I know it probably doesn't matter, but I think I would feel a little better to know that I am actually on some kind of wait list...

Im currently working as an LPN and am about to graduate as an RN in a couple of weeks from a community college very much preferred in the area Im from and I have to say through my schooling and work experience I have seen too many nurses and students who just dont truly care about the patients and only about the paycheck...I have applied to the RN to BSN program at UMB to further my education at a very good school... I am impressed by all of you... A lot of hard work went in to prerequisites and not to mention the amount of requirements just to be completed to be considered for acceptance at umb...i hope you all are accepted and go on to be honest and truly caring nurses that i can be proud to call my colleagues one day... I wish you the best of luck

If I may, I would like to reiterate Grey Lady's point. I was wait listed last fall and I was already making alternative plans for the semester. A week before school started, I was notified that a spot had become available (I was notified on a Friday, orientation was the following Wednesday and Thursday, and classes began on Monday). I know of two other people in my cohort who were wait listed and were offered spots a week before school as well. So there is definitely still hope for those who have not heard anything yet. I know the wait can be excruciatingly nerve wracking, but try to hang in there.

Just out of curiosity, did your status read "Committee Ready" that whole time? Or did it eventually change to "Wait Listed"? If so, how long did it take for it to change? My status still says Committee Ready, but I'm still hoping to hear some kind of good news in the next few weeks (fingers crossed).

I looked at the forum from the Fall 2010 applicants and apparently when they were waitlisted their status changed from Committee ready to "please contact the admissions office" or something like that and when the applicants called the admissions office they were informed of their waitlist status, but I don't know that they are still doing this.

Hi! I wasn't waitlisted at UMB, but I was at two schools last year. When that happened, my status changed to "Pending". After the timeframe passed for applicants who were accepted to accept or decline their seats and I still wasn't in, my status changed to "Declined" on one and "Not Accepted" on the other. My belief is that if status has not changed at all and still says "Committee Ready", then they really just haven't updated your status yet. Again, I am not sure, but that is what I would think. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you; I know it is stressful but don't give up yet! :)
