im still waiting for the interview date unfortunately, havent booked my medical yet but will probably do it this week sometime

im off to Casa Grande but going to live in Chandler

we started off with our 18 months on st croix, one of the us virgin islands, an idylic carribean island. while we were there we visited orlando for a week, and went to st thomas, and spent a few days in peurto rico.

we then travelled to reno and had some time working there amongst the casinos and the snow, we were able to visit lake tahoe from there which is wonderful. we then flew to arizona, and stayed with friends for 5 weeks, and then got a job in sacramento, the capital of california, we visited san fransisco from there which was also great. we then went back to the uk to visit family for 6 weeks, and when we returned we drove back to arizona, where we still are. we have been to visit sedona, and are going on a train trip shortly to the south rim of the grand canyon, plenty of places for us to visit, as we have made friends with the nurses that i have worked with and they are all scattered from pensylvania, to the carolinas. and we have plans to visit kentucky and alabama where we have family and friends from back home.

its sounds like you have had a wonderful time

Been here 18 years (on Sept 9) and have done much sightseeing, here are some of my favorites:

LA, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Monterey, Mammoth Lakes, Lake tahoe, Newport Beach, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion Canyon, Dallas, Boston, Niagra Falls, Washington DC, Alaska, New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Tampa, St Pete's Beach, Disney land and world, Aruba, Martinique, St Thomas, St Marteen, Barbados, Maui, Yosemite, Pensecola, Virginia, Pismo Beach, Death Valley and there are still tons of places left to see and things to do. I also love coming back to the UK as a "tourist" to sightsee with my kids.:wink2:

i have not been finding life funny since i came in to the States since last year.I have been waiting endlessly to sit for the NCLEX and it is taking forever for California board to send my ATT.What can i do or what other state can i register with that will facilitate my registeration.It is so frustrating here.I need quick help .Many thanks and cheers mate.

moving from the UK to the USA, despite its pitfalls, is an adventure in a new country, with so much to see and do!!!

so, since you have been in the USA what things have you seen and done that you wouldnt have in the UK?

Have you been sightseeing, what do you do on your days off?

i know that life isnt going to be sightseeing and days out when i move, there are plenty of negative things to look out for, but what are the nice things???

Well we have been here 10 months now.....what we do a lot of is cycling and walking - which we could do in the uk but not so much if we had to be reliant on the weather....Soooooooooo the weather here has helped us keep a little fitter although my expanding waist line wouldnt agree...lol

We dont necessarily do anything that much different to what we did in the uk except we do it all more often becasue we can rely more on the weather....I know it sounds like I am repeating myself but the weather plays a very important part.

We have seen a lot more wildlife here and that is just in our own back yard!! As we have an acre of land we see a lot of squirrels, hares, cranes and ducks in our back yard....this is daily....of course we see the geico's too lol We have also seen a lot of birds and butterflies too which is nice....

On my days off we do go to the beach - we actually live further away from the beach here than what we did in North Wales but it is much nicer. We quite often go for a drive along the coast road and stop off occassionaly at certain areas - I always carry a camera with me so always taking scenic shots....

We have been to the Manatee park a coupe of times and the local zoo too which were all inexpensive in comparison....would you believe we havent been to Disney AT ALL since we have been here....must do that at some point...although we have stayed in Orlando for a few days when we had family over...

Sorry if that sounds boring but basically we arent doing much more than we did in the UK...exceot we eat out a lot more lol:wink2:

Most importantly we spend more time with the kids....
