UCLA New Grad Program 2010

Has anyone heard anything back from the UCLA New Grad Summer Program for 2010? I applied in the beginning of February and have only had a phone interview so far, with no feedback yet. Any info or others' experience would be much appreciated, thank you!

wait..there's a confirmation email? I received my call over a week ago but never received a confirmation email... does the email say anything besides going over your date/time to come in..?

I didn't get a confirmation email either.

My friend that did get one told me that hers just says something like "You have an interview with _____ at _____ on ______" and then it gave the address to the place. I wouldn't worry about it, but if you really want one then I guess it wouldn't hurt to call the office and "confirm" your interview date/time. :)

yeah, i actually just called them back and said i never received the email she told me about... and i guess she re-sent it and i have it now...

Whoops. Sorry it's taken so long for me to reply. I got the call on Wed and my last name starts with H. Also, I got the confirmation email about 10 mins after the call.

Good luck to all of us!

That's interesting that you got your call this week and your last name starts with an H. My last name starts with an N and I got my call almost 2 weeks ago.

anyone have their interview yet?

I had my interview yesterday. Felt pretty good about it afterwards. :)

what was the interview like? were there technical or clinical situation questions? congrats on your interview!

It felt like she was just trying to learn more about me. We talked about my experiences in school, my past work experience, what units I was interested in, etc. In terms of questions, I would say that they were pretty similar to standard interview questions.. what are your strengths/weaknesses, etc.

Had my interview on Monday... definitely went very well. Same questions as Jan. Jan - I forgot to ask what the next step is? I remember she said that they started interviews the day I interviewed and that they had a few more weeks of them to complete. Did she say anything to you about the specific unit contacting you? Which units did you apply for?

yea same here went amazing... she said that we basically just sit and wait again until we get placed for the units we get to interview for... i was told via email...

She didn't say if the specific unit would be contacting me or if she would be contacting me, but I suspect that it would be the latter. And she also said that it would take at least a couple of weeks before I would hear anything.

I applied for MS/Tele, ICU/CCU at SM-UCLA, and L&D. I got the feeling that most of the openings are at SM-UCLA because she spent a good amount of time talking to me about SM-UCLA and all the renovations that have been done. I've never been to SM-UCLA, but I would be happy to be employed by UCLA Healthcare in general so if that's where she wants to place me then I'm all for it.
