  1. Does anyone know what happened with St. Vincent's new grad program? They were supposed to have started taking apps in May, but I checked their website today and it had closed. Was it only open for a few days?
  2. Whoops. Sorry it's taken so long for me to reply. I got the call on Wed and my last name starts with H. Also, I got the confirmation email about 10 mins after the call. Good luck to all of us!
  3. I got the call today to come in for an interview. Yay!! I'm so relieved! I was beginning to think I'd never get an interview for anything!
  4. Are people still getting e-mails, or should I give up hope?
  5. Thanks for the tips. I appreciate it. I actually moved out here from Texas, and the job market wasn't so great out there either, although I know it's better than it is here in SoCal. I moved here because my boyfriend is working here, so as long as I'm in this relationship, and as long as he's working in L.A., I'll be looking for a job out here. It's definitely difficult, but hopefully we'll all find something soon.
  6. I'm local. I think I had a 3.2, and I have a previous degree. No e-mail. Who knows what their selection process is like...
  7. Yes, and that was the answer I got.
  8. Congratulations! I don't think my GPA was that high, so I won't expect to get an e-mail.
  9. Ok.. I just got a call back, and the guy I talked to said that there are two HR employees in the process of contacting their local candidates to set up in-person interviews. He said, "Hopefully you'll be getting a call from them in the next few days to set up an interview." I'm not sure if he meant that hopefully I'd hear from them soon than later, or hopefully I've made it past the next round... I should have asked him to be more specific.
  10. Ok, thanks. I'll try that.
  11. I called to check on the status of my application, but the senior nurse recruiter wasn't available, so they took down my number for her to call me back. Sigh...
  12. I really have no clue what it's like in NorCal. I applied to the UCLA new grad program, and had a phone interview, but I don't think I made it to the next round. I've been following some other threads where people have been saying they've been called back for in-person interviews. Maybe I'm not being aggressive enough. Should I be applying online and then calling the hospital regularly to try to get an interview? Ugh... It's very frustrating.
  13. I still haven't heard anything either, but I doubt we'd get something over the weekend.
  14. Yes, I've been checking Craig's List. So far, nothing has panned out, but I keep looking. I went to school in Texas. I graduated from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. How long have you been looking?
  15. I graduated from nursing school in August, passed the NCLEX, and got my CA RN. I've applied to 30+ hospitals within a 50 mile radius of my apartment, and have had no luck. I'm new to the area, so I'm not really sure where else to look. How can I find jobs at doctor's offices or surgical centers? Also, I miss my nursing school buddies. If anyone wants to hang out and share sob stories, I've got nothing but time. *Sigh*
