UCF 2010-2011 accelerated nursing program

I am applying and have requested all my transcripts, I did decent on the Teas test with an 86. Undergrad gpa 3.45, pre req 4.0

I went to the info session last month it was a bit of a pain :angryfire to sit through just to get the application passcode because of all the redundant you should do some research if your serious questions lol.

I am excited and hope to get in to move forward with my life goals of community health nursing.

I am also applying to UNF's program too. Their website is really detailed with everything I ever wanted to know. One of the few schools that have their stuff together.

Just for the lectures....we can't register for labs until we go to the nursing orientation.

Hoping to enroll today...

I was able to enroll today so hopefully everyone was. When I did get into the classes they said 15 of 60 or so spots were taken so possibly some people may have to wait until UCF orientation.

I am assuming the Mosby Nursing Video DVD and the Fundamentals of nursing text with Mosby's nursing video skills set are 2 different items? Just wanted to check before I pay for them both... :)

Got my scrubs yesterday, the jackets are sold out right now but I was going to check if we can use our own if we have them (I have 2) and not sure any details on the lab coats.

My magnus tracker is completed. Well except for the CPR card which should come this week and the Insurance card. Glad my first university required sooo many vaccines and the date of my chicken pox.

Can we make our insurance start on MAY 15 since classes do not start until May 17 or does the insurance have to start May 1 because orientation is MAY 12?

Anybody doing anything besides Blue Cross go blue $20+ deal?

Has anyone heard anything else about summer financial aid?

I decided to go with the insurance provided through UCF. I like the price of the GoBlue but makes me a little nervous cause it doesn't cover very much. Wish I didn't just turn 25 so I could have stayed on the parent's plan!!!!

I feel you. I plan on getting atena for a little bit and switching to go blue or doing the reverse because Atena provides a free woman's yearly exam, free physical, dental for $11 bucks for $60 bucks. We have to do another physical next April so trust me I plan on having them then.

Has anyone heard anything else about summer financial aid?

Hi Kaiti,

If you have registered already, you should have your award information for the subsidized amount they are offering. They said the unsubsidized amount will be posted later this month.

Not sure why registering would trigger the award but I guess that is just how it works. BTW it totally sucks that way.

I don't know why they handle student loans differently for the summer term. I already have the info from UCF for Fall and Spring. So annoying. I called financial aid this morning. I was told it would take 7 - 10 days from the day I register to get more info. We shall see...

The I think the reason for this is because you have to be enrolled at least half-time to receive loans/aid

That is strange, you are the second person who has told that they already have info for Fall and Spring but not summer.

I have summer only. Were you a previous UCF student? The other person I talked to was, I think it might have to do with your good academic standing and history of enrollment??
