UCF 2010-2011 accelerated nursing program

I am applying and have requested all my transcripts, I did decent on the Teas test with an 86. Undergrad gpa 3.45, pre req 4.0

I went to the info session last month it was a bit of a pain :angryfire to sit through just to get the application passcode because of all the redundant you should do some research if your serious questions lol.

I am excited and hope to get in to move forward with my life goals of community health nursing.

I am also applying to UNF's program too. Their website is really detailed with everything I ever wanted to know. One of the few schools that have their stuff together.

One more thing, does anyone know if we will be using all the books the entire year? and would anyone be interested in buying the package (for $868 at UCF) and share it so each person would be saving $434??? one person can have the actual books and the other one the electronic version of them. Let me know @ [email protected]

Hey guys....just found this page =) could someone give me the facebook URL to add to my contacts??? Thanks!!!! Also was anyone able to find the package that we will be using the 1st semester online? I want to see if is cheaper outside of UCF.

Welcome to the thread! :) It is against allnurses terms and services to post links to facebook but you can search for "UCF accelerated bsn 2010-2011" and you should find it no problem.

As for the books I think most people have bought their books on amazon saving a few hundred bucks.

JaimesA good idea. I hate reading a textbook from a computer. I guess you and that person would need to buy extra lab books tough. Well I am ordering books this weekend.

I will be staying about 10 miles away from campus. Anybody staying off Dean Rd/Curry Ford Rd/Young Pine? Trying to see if anyone wants to pool with me. The class times are a killer but gotta do it and I figure having a classmate relying on you will help make it on time everyday.

Could someone send me the book list and/or the tentative class schedule? I got pulled off the waitlist and can't seem to get that information from the school. Thanks! See you all in 1 week

Hey Fellow ABSN students...I'm starting the same program at a different florida school in fall..but I have a Questions for you all since you're going thru it right now....

DId most of you get enough Aid from Fafsa (even if it's just loans) to cover your living and school? Or did you have ot take Private student loans also??? and if so which private loans did you do? I'll be in your same boat in a couple of months and I'd love any advice!!!

THanks!! and GOod LUck!!!!!

Well I have not received my aid so quickly like some. I do have Sallie Mae bugging me to complete a loan I started last month but stopped. I will update you within a few weeks.

Thanks! I started a Sallie Mae loan also but decided to wait and see what else I get...we'll see

my aid hit I got like 2400 for the sub and 4g's for the unsub.

Is that per semester???

Yes that is per semester sorry for the delay. This program is tough as hell.

I see your post was April 1, 2010. Do you know when UCF finally posted the nursing scholarships last year? I'm looking for this coming year and the deadlines still say June 1, 2010.

Hi Kimberly,

The scholarships post at various times. I know students that applied prior to the start of the program and just found out in the past few weeks about scholarships that will be active for the summer semester. For those of us in the accelerated program, that means the scholarships post during our final semester of the program. So I wouldn't wait or rely on scholarships to fund the program because they are really hit or miss and the timing can be a bit delayed.

Best of luck to you, though! It's a tough program and if you can make it work financially, it's definitely worth the time!
