hi quick question, what type of group is AA? like in the lines of mental health class, I really don't know what type of group it is, I googled it, and looked up AA websites, they don't say what type of group it is, thank you very much!

I'm not quite sure of what you are asking. Did you read the article? What more information do you need? You'll have to be more specific.

I believe technically it is referred to as a Self-Help group.

Yes, according to my Communications material from speech, AA is considered a Self-Management group type.

Self help group and if they want more specifics it is a 12 step program.

I would call it a support group. People meet at a location like a church or community hall. They award people who have reached a milestone in their sobriety. They have a speaker who talks about his/her personal story of addiction and sobriety. Beginners can hook up with experienced for one on one support and accountability.
