TWU Spring 2010

Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.

Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?

I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.

If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?

Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!

does anyone know if gpas above a 4.0 are considered a 4.0 or do they keep them what they are?

They are keeping them what they are...so a 4.4 is a 4.4, which would be the max GPA a person could have.

Good job mau00 and butterfly! That's awesome.

I heard that if you apply to Houston and Dallas, then you are counted as two applicants. That may make the 548 seem a little smaller. I am sure a lot of people applied to both.

That's good to know. I was actually a little surprised by that number. I am also applying to UT Health Science Center in Houston, and they had about 900 applicants for only 80 spots, which really made me nervous! It's nice to know there may be fewer at TWU, and that some may have been counted twice!

Hello everyone, I too don't mind sharing my scores, there's not much I can do about it now anyways! My HESI was only an 82 with a critical thinking of 850. My GPA is a 3.92, so I am really hoping it is enough to get in! I applied to both Houston and Dallas just to be safe. BTW, is anyone taking Patho in Denton this term?

my hesi score is a 92 with a critical thinking score of 890, but my gpa is around a 3.6. i just found out that i did not send in my spring 2009 final transcript (which has my anatomy and physiology II grade on it) so i am ineligible for the program... :( disappointing, but seeing how a gpa of a 3.75 is considered "low" i probably wouldn't have gotten in anyhow. good luck to all of you though!

oooh no! did they email you and say that they didn't have the transcript! it stinks that you won't get accepted for something like that

they emailed me about a week ago telling me... :(

i know... wish i knew before the deadline, but i really can't do anything about it now. i'm just gonna say that i wouldn't have gotten in because of my gpa...it'll make me feel better! lol

Well, since we are all sharing.... my gpa is a 3.83, and my HESI was a 94. I can't remember what my critical thinking was, because I didn't think it counted. Honestly I rushed through that section because I was tired and didn't think it mattered. I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot with that! Honestly, I think everyone sounds highly competitive. Especially if the number of applicants is under 600. I think in past semesters they have had closer to 1000, so we should all be in very good shape. I think the cut-offs will end up being significantly lower than previous semesters with fewer applicants. We'll see pretty soon! Keeping my fingers crossed for us all!

ahhh! i cannot BELIEVE i didn't send in my transcript!

haha *sigh*

I'm sorry Kimmy. That is a serious bummer. I hope that everything works out for you.

Keep in mind the 548 was 1 day before deadline, who knows how many applied after that morning and next day.

I would think each location would be a seperate pool of applicants?

Went to the nursing school office and asked to verify my Hesi score and the first thing she asked is when did I take it? I took my test in July and my score was just as Hesi had reported to me on paper and computer.

Kimmy088, Im Sorry about the transcripts, I know you must be very disappointed. Dont beat yourself up too bad.:banghead: I always tell myself when things dont go the way I want, that God has a different plan for me right now and that the timing is on HIS time. Your time will come and you will shine!!:loveya:

That is very true! :) *sigh* Thanks for reminding me!
