TOOK NCLEX 2/3/05, had 265 !!

Published

OMG !! I am speechless. I dont even know what to say, except I have NEVER in my entire life been through such a gut-wrenching experience. I had ALL 265 DANG questions !!! As most people feel, I am sure I failed. I cannot believe it. I went into feeling okay, after I hit 175 I just knew I'd be taking the entire thing. I have heard of people passing with 265, but I am SOOOOOO.... scared. I am supposed to start my new job on 2/7/04, and I will be so upset if I dont pass.

I had 3 check all that apply, no math, approx. 10 OB, and 7 PEDS. I had NO idea there would be so many priority questions. PLEASE someone give me some hope and get me thru the LONGEST weekend of my life.

:( :bluecry1:  :sniff:

Because dang it I have worked SO hard and deserve to be a :nurse:

I know it is awful waiting. Be good to yourself, go to a movie, do anything to keep yourself occupied. I bettcha you passed. Good sign you had so many priority questions. The NCLEX experience is terrible.

Hang in there...tons of people pass with 265!! If the questions were difficult and there were lots of priority questions, it is actually a good sign!!! Please hang in there and let us know how you did!!

Maybe I was a little presumptuous choosing Sterling-"RN" for a user name. I, too, walked into the testing center on 2-3-05, and had 265 questions thrown at me. I am still somber, and am already thinking I may have to take this horrible thing again in 45 days. I would say nearly half of the questions were priority questions, and there were always 2 answers that seemed to be the biggest priority. Each time I felt unsure about a question, the next was a priority one...over and over and over and over.

I just wanted my test to end at 75--either way...it was a nightmare. I hear about people who finished in 45 minutes, and was thinking, am I really this stupid???? Is is SO unclear to the computer that I would demonstrate competent nursing at an entry level???

I understand that 265 and 75 are just numbers when it comes to passing this thing, but it sure makes me feel that I am lacking somewhere. I studied my rear end off for the past 20 days, and work on a med surge floor in the local hospital as a Nursing Tech--even studying at work (making it look like I was researching a patient...and sometimes I was).

My first question was a math question that was easy enough, but it was a FILL IN math question that I had to work out 20 times to be sure it was right. Normally, no problem...lol...this day...10 minutes.

Yes, I won't give up hope, and I will just take this wretched thing again if I have to...and not to insult anyone else who got 265, but I will tell you...I feel like I am both ignorant and unlucky.

Hope you find out soon that you passed this thing. Send up silent prayers for me to. Thanks.

ITS ME again !!! I got thru the night. WOOO HOOO !!!

I spoke with other classmates, there have actually been two people that I graduated with that passed with 265 questions. I am praying each second. Thank you all so much for the posts and support.

I had a new grad in my office yesterday who had gotten 240 questions. He passed! So hang in there.

hope you recieve positive result on your exam. thanks for sharing also what kind of questions you encountered. it's a big help for us who's still taking the exam.

Hang in there Ashley and Sterling. The number of questions is only the number of questions. :)

I took boards 7/04 and also had 265 questions. I was the 2nd to last person in the testing station and thought for sure that I had failed. I kept hitting those points during the test when I thought for sure the computer would have to turn off and it just kept on giving me more questions. In the end I did pass and am now an official RN so I know it's possible even with all 265 questions. :)

Good luck and let us know how you do.

Yes I am in your shoes. Except I took my test on 1/27, last thursday. CA is the biggest piece of @%$! when it comes to results. Pardon my francais. I mean really, is it so hard to just tell me over the phone? Where are you located....maybe you can check the Pearson website or something? I guess you would've done it already. I couldn't believe that test either. I was such as mushball when I got out of there. I cried my eyes out. That night, my family took me out to dinner and in the restaurant I was still crying! It WAS really excruciating. After so many questions, it was difficult to concentrate because in the back of my head I was thinking "omg I am at #200 (or #210, or whatever high number I was on...) will this EVER end?" So I feel your pain. I don't know - but I will tell you that if will ever wait as long as I have (8th day) - it WILL get better. I am calmer, and I just want to know now... if I fail, oh well, I'll try again - I just want to know so I can move on...but of course I hope I pass so I can do my cartwheels down my street! Hey, like everyone told me, you were still in the game. Obviously you were doing something kinda right, which is much, much better than, something VERY wrong. I believe we are one of those really good statistics - WE BOTH WILL PASS. So keep your head up, have a good weekend, and I'll pray for us! Hopefully you'll find out real soon - chris :p

STILL WAITING.... I tested on a thursday, if I was smart I would have tried to get a tuesday or wednesday appointment.

**WE HAVE HOPE !! One of my best friends that I graduated with, who took her NCLEX on wednesday (with 265 ?'s) found out yesterday that she PASSED !!! I am so HAPPY for her, glad she is having a wonderful weekend.

We are in North Carolina and for some STUPID reason they dont participate in the thing where you can get your results online or over the phone (on the 900 #). We have been blowing up the NCBON automated verification line. Still nothing. I am expecting that we will know by monday. I am surviving the weekend so far, trying to keep myself busy.

Keep me posted & I will do the same.

Guess what...I PASSED!!!! And with 265 questions!!! I can't even believe it. I am still waiting for the board of nursing to issue an apology for making a mistake...LOL. I am so elated that all I want to do now is sleep. Take care, I hope your news is just as good as mine!!!!
