I would take micro and A&P II together and take A&P I by itself. I am taking micro and A&P II together right now and it is not so bad but I find A&P II to be much easier that A&P I.
I have a friend in my micro class and she is taking A&P I also and she is drowning. Of course it just depends on the person but from my experience and from what my friends and I have discussed A&P II is little less stressful.
Do you have to work full-time and/or have kids? If you don't then I think it is definitely do-able. Like others said NS is tough itself and you gotta handle a tough load then. However, it is so competitive to get into NS you want to make sure you do your best.
All in all anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
right now, i only work part time. i have 2 boys at home that are 14 years old and 1 year and 4 months;) before this i hadn't been in school for 12 years and taking general psych and english comp was like whoa at first, but it was just a matter of me getting used to school work again.
i have a month or so to think about it before i have to register again, so i'm going to look at everything thoroughly. my friend was telling me the same thing that you said about taking a&p2 and micro together-but i'm planning on taking micro in the summer and was concerned about the intensity of the class since the summer sessions are so short.
thank you for the advice txnursingqt! ^_^
I would not say it's a death sentence but it won't be easy either. Some people are really good at memorizing and grasping things quickly. If you are, then you will probably be fine. I need a lot of time to read and digest and memorize (and I also have 2 small children so my time is very broken up). I could not have done more than one science per semester and still gotten my A's.
My micro teacher references things we've learned in A&P I & II fairly often. I wouldn't have been able to take them together since I needed general biology or A&P I as a prerequisite to micro, but IME it's easier to take chemistry before the biology classes. So why not A&P I with Cehmistry and then A&P II with micro?
Personally, for me that would have been too much. There is so much in this micro class that references A&P 1 and 2 and also chemistry that I am glad that we have to take it last. At my school you have to have completed both chemistry and A&P 1 as a prerequisite to even take micro. Have you checked to make sure you could take both at the same time?
Another thing you can do is to check out the professors offered on ratemyprofessor.com and see how they stack up. If the two professors seem like they won't be killers and out for blood then maybe it's worth a try.

hi. i wanted to get some first hand advice from you guys. i sort of set a goal for myself and was wondering if you thought that a&p 1 and microbiology is a death sentence if taken in the same semester?
i plan on going to school through the summer too and i have to take chemistry and then a&p 2. i'm really nervous about the micro and the a&p together because i hear alot about how hard anatomy and physiology is.
the ppl in my class keep telling me how that's way too much science in one semester and to top it off, i also have to get algebra in there and i'm not too swift with mr mathematics.
is it really that hard-is anyone here doing and pulling through well?
tia!
