to those of you who had the summer off...

UNLIKE me. :(

Don't let me catch you whining about needing a break in the next few weeks!!! :grn: :p

Frankly I deserved and earned my summer off. So if in a few weeks I want to complain and whine, I will. I worked harder during my pre reqs to get all my co reqs done early too, so I could have my summer off.

Not too much complaining from me. Fall break for thanksgiving then Winter break. My mindset is the sooner I get done with my BSN the better and then the REAL learning begins :)

To those who took the summer off. Don't come asking me to help you study for that test you where told we would have the first week of class 2 days prior. Oh and yeah I worked 2 full time jobs, have 2 kids, a hubby and STILL managed to study daily. So no I will not become your best friend all the sudden when you haven't bothered to try and talk to me since the final.

Sorry, just had to vent.

I worked my tail off to get a 4.0 in every one of my prereqs so that I had a chance of getting into my school of choice (which I did!). So, like Mi Vida Loca, I earned my summer off. I've enjoyed every minute of it!! Sorry for those that did not have the summer off, I know what that feels like because I had classes all last summer. I hope that those of you that spent your summer in the classroom at least had a chance to get to the pool or take a long weekend trip camping. Take a breather before fall semester begins. Good luck all!

Are there not a lot of quarter students around here? I don't have the chance to "earn" my summer off...NS runs year round.

I just finished my prereqs in April, so I went year round getting those done. My NS starts next week and I'm in an accelerated BSN program. So, yes, my NS is year-round as well, just haven't started yet.

I wasn't given any choice in the matter. Our program doesn't run through the summer. I'll whine if I need to, though it is unlikely, since whining isn't really my way of coping with things.

I too worked hard for my grades, with kids, job, spouse and other issues and obligations. All I have to finish are my nursing classes now. And school will be intense come Fall whether I had the summer off or not. It isn't as if I was given the choice to do some of it ahead of time.

I spent my summer working an externship at the local hospital. So...yeah. Not a whole lot of lounging around the house days happened here anyway. I finished co-req's ahead of schedule and now am able to network for that first job. I honestly think the implication that those of us who weren't in school during the summer are somehow slackers is pretty incendiary and rude.

I will soon find out what youre talking about.. the NS im transferring to in January goes through the summer, but were done a semester earlier! I am sure it sucks to be studying your a$$ off while your friends are going to the beach and having all their summer fun. :crying2:

Here we go again with the "I have a 4.0, have four full time jobs and a gaggle of kids and I still had a life." Well, good for you. The drama never ceases, even in the summer.

LOL, Im just pathetic. I only took A&P 2 this summer , have 4 kids but no job and I can barely cope. I tell ya, most people on these boards can run circles around me. I really need to get it together before NS begins.

Wow, not sure who stepped on your toe this morning...I'm assuming you're referring to my post since I said I got 4.0s in my prereqs. What you don't know is that I don't have a job OR kids, I still had to work my tail off to get those grades. I can't imagine going to school full time, with a job and kids. I have incredible respect for those that do. I'm not sure what "drama" you're referring to, but it seems that maybe you're trying to stir something up with your comment.

My previous school was on quarters and the there nursing program had the summer off as well. I surely am not going to feel guilty for having a summer off though. My 4 kids enjoyed all the time we had to do stuff since when I am in nursing school they have to sacrifice a lot. Especially since my husband works out of town for 5 months in the winter/spring and so it's just me and the kids and nursing school and clinicals.
