What has been or was the most difficult part of nursing education and what was the most fun?

Specializes in Cardiac/ED.

The time requirement of NS....The feeling that comes with knowing that you made a difference in someone's life.

P2

Specializes in Ortho, Neuro, Detox, Tele.

Difficult...the time you have to spend studying, preparing and learning....

fun.....the clinicals that went well, making a difference in lives, and learning how to be a nurse!

Specializes in ER; HBOT- lots others.

the hardest thing i have ever done, but soooo proud now that i am done.

gl!

-H-

Specializes in neuro/ortho med surge 4.

The most difficult part- Evil clinical instructor who can make your life hell (there is usually one every on dreads getting)

The best- the friends you bond with during school and patient care.

Nursing school was the hardest thing I have ever accomplished

Specializes in Acute Care.

Worst - Med/Surg 2 during 3rd semester. Lets just say the the "weeding out" thing that you hear about really happened in my program. Then I don't know if this counts, but finding a job after graduation is a lot harder than anyone let on!

Best - Every time a paitient told me I would be a great nurse, bonding with fellow students, and my L&D rotation.

Specializes in Critical Care: Cardiac, VAD, Transplant.

Worst:Giving up my family-and life- while in nursing school. Can't freeze dry the kids! For some reason, they seem to keep growing and changing regardless of the fact that I'm not always there to watch and help:crying2: .

Best: Knowing that when I'm finally done, I will be in a position to save and change lives! I have already changed my children's lives. They know that my future job is their future education! My oldest are already researching colleges...

The worst is definitley all the studying!!!! and its so time consuming...

but the best is when you have patients at clinicals tell you thank you or you were so sweet, and you know they really appreciate you!! :)

The worst: jumping through all the hoops just to get in. Dealing with being on waiting lists is no fun.

The best: putting on my white uniform and cap when getting fitted at the uniform store.

Specializes in Nursing Ed, Ob/GYN, AD, LTC, Rehab.

The most difficult, the time you must put into studying and putting your life on hold. The best part, working with patients once you graduate and teaching them how to care for themselves.

The WORST part of NS was Med-Surg for me, and the stress of hoping that you pass no matter how hard you study! I think I had quite a few nervous breakdown:crying2:

The BEST part of nursing school was learning new things, being involved in patient care, and the all time bestest part was when patients appreciated and told me I was going to be a great nurse:heartbeat
