Good Evening Folks, and Happy New Year (almost)I have a question about stethoscopes. I have been told that my best bet is Littman Classic; any idea where I can pick one up at a fairly decent price in SW Michigan?Anyone else suggest a different brand? Thanks for the input! J
Syncere 113 Posts Dec 30, 2007 Hey Ms. J,I bought mines from Life Uniforms in Southgate for $85, but you can get it a little cheaper on this site:http://www.allheart.com/2200-16.html Or, maybe they have them a little cheaper on eBay. They are definitely worth it because I bought a couple of cheap ones that were completely and a total waste! With the Littman, I was able to hear everything clearly. Hope this helps!

I did go to allhearts, and yes prices were a bit cheaper, but once you figure in shipping (was like 12 bucks), the prices werent too much different, so I think I will just carry my fanny down eureka to get one Thanks again- J:thankya:

brandi110 76 Posts Dec 30, 2007 Will we need our stethoscopes for the lab, or do we just need to have them before the clinicals?
WyandotteMomma 43 Posts Dec 31, 2007 Brandi,My understanding is that we need them for the first 7.5 weeks, 118 maybe?
missgigius, RN 190 Posts Dec 31, 2007 Hi Brandi and Wyandotte!! Congrats on getting into the program!!:welcome:I am now a second semester nursing student at WCCCD. You will indeed need your stethoscope starting during the first 7.5 weeks. Not only will you use it in physical assessment class and the foundation skills lab, you will also want to have it so you can practice at home or in the skills lab (outside of normal class time).Hope this helps.Congrats again!:welcome::balloons:Virginia

I found the site from 3M when I was trying to decide which Littman I wanted, they are an authorized reseller. If anyone is interested...http://bergware.net/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/merchandise?/Z111111They had about 8 colors to choose from. Good Luck, I may see some of you come the 14th of January...enjoy the rest of your time off.

I had heard that the Lightweight was actually easier to use than the Cardiology or Master. I guess I'll find out. I paid $48 including shipping from allheart.com. Mine is Lilac (my kids helped pick the color ).
