Yeah I watch the Taylor's DVDs too and was wondering the same question. There are a couple of male student nurses on those videos so don't know which one you're talking about. We're not on catheters as yet.
I think the "patients" are actors. I remembering seeing the same guy for the head-to-toe physical assessment video and in the vital signs video.
I've only watched the med admin videos from that series. My guess is that both the students and patients are actors (not necessarily good ones, mind you). The instructors are (were- I think the vids are 80's-era) real people, but they've been scripted/made up/coached up and reheorificed.

does anyone else have skills dvds to watch to show you how to do certain skills, like vitals, injections, ng tubes, catheters, etc?
i was just watching the one on indwelling catheters and thinking "are these people real patients or actors? and if they are actors, how much do they pay these poor people to catheterize them for no appearant reason on video?"
lol, sorry if that comes across as a weird thought, but it sorta bothered me.. also, are the "student nurses" really students, or nurses, or actors? im guessing they are nurses or students at least if they are doing things like meds and catheters.. its weirding me out! haha any thoughts?
by the way, we have "Taylor's Guide to Clinical Nursing SKills"
