share your experience with SAUNDERS

I've been doing the questions but I also heard the questions on the cd are a lot easy. And how they might not help with the actual NCLEX exam. If this is true, then why is this book considered to help you pass the boards? I'm confused. Anyone passed the boards with just using saunders? Please, share your experience. Tell me how you studyied on the cd?

hi!

I recently took the nclex and passed at 75 questions!!:yeah:I also did not have enough money for kaplan so I think I overcompensated by studying ALOT:sstrs:. The main book I used was the Saunders 4th edition review book. I also read the Kaplan strategy book x 2 (but im just a nerd that way). I also bought the Saunders Q&A book. So my study plan consisted of reading theory taking the tests at the end, and when i could not read theory any more i would switch over to doing questions. It worked! And am now a RN :nurse:. I think i spent about 5 wks studying...lol...i was on a mission! GOOD LUCK!

hi congrats!:yeah::wink2:just want to ask did you finished the saunders comprehensive and the Q & A book? from cover to cover?coz i had those two... how did you study? could you share with us? thanks! goodluck to you! new RN:nurse:

congrats!! :yeah:

Thanks! The comprehensive review book I think I only had the last 5 sections left to complete it. The Q&A book I would say i did all the questions except the comprehensive exam at the end (i didnt do the comprehensive exam for the review book either). I have always been a night time study person...so, my goal everyday was to do at least around 100 practice questions, and 4 chapters in the review book. THIS DID NOT ALWAYS HAPPEN,lol but i tried to be as focused as possible. And of course i did not study everyday, at the beginning i studied probably 3-4 x week, and as the date came closer i did do some type of review a day. There were days where i would just do questions, and some days i would just do the review and the liitle test after the chapter. ALSO, i had my medical dictionary at my side at all times to look things up that i needed more clarification on, and my drug book too...and i took notes on stuff i didnt know but honestly never looked at them after that lol. I think that was kind of it...I also ate frrozen grapes while studying he he...but doubt that affected my nclex pass rate :p.

I stopped studying about 1 day and a half before my exam because 1)i had a headache and 2) i figured i knew it or i didn't. I would not waste my time trying to memorizing stuff because i memorized all of my labs and not ONE SINGLE LAB QUESTION:smackingf

Congratulations JKNEE!

Did you use any other reading materials besides saunders 4th edition?

How many hours did you study each day?

thanks for the reply and sharing your study session with us!:bow:goodluck to you!

The hours varied every time but i would say average 3-5 give or take a few and would take small breaks in between, i could never sit through all that time...and like i said I did not study like this every day...i just made sure i stayed focused and kept going!

The only other book I used was the Kaplan strategy book, which was good but after that it was just the saunders review book and questions :)
