share your experience with SAUNDERS

Saunders is far from NCLEX as far as questions go. They're more how NCLEX should be though, with questions following content in a logical manner. No trickery.

Kaplan questions are very NCLEX. I know because I took it and failed.

From what I've been through I firmly believe passing NCLEX has more to do with just getting out of nursing school than what book you studied. The reason being none are affiliated with NCLEX. Also as far as I know there is no governing body to dictate what is or is not a NCLEX review.

Now don't get me wrong. There are tons of publications that give wonderful information. It's just that passing NCLEX has as much to do with the style of the test as knowing content.

The consensus is Saunders for content, Kaplan for NCLEX style questions. I have to agree. You need some type of content based study along with practice looking at a question and thinking.

But on the same note you're not getting 100% NCLEX approved content or questions. You're just trying to increase the odds of passing by using something as close to NCLEX as you can find.

It's just a shame a new grad that happens to fail NCLEX is faced with such a terrible ordeal. To not be able to use one source of study material is rediculous.

The problem is not content or questions. It's that everything about NCLEX is far removed from everything.

i did saunders and it helped alot... well you want see anything familiar on the nclex.. but it helps you understand concepts alot more... i did about 100 questions on the cd mon-thursday.. and would read over any chapter that i struggled with. hope that helps..

i am using the saunders.it is very helpful with contents and it helps everything to come together

Just wanted to let everyone know I found out I passed! As I said here before, I only used Saunders 4th edition and got 75Q. Just knowing all of the background content really makes it much easier to know the answer without having to second guess yourself or strategize your way through it. I left the test very confident and I owe it all to the Saunders book. Good luck for everyone who is taking it soon!

Thanks. I've been using Saunders and that's all I'm going to focus on too.

I've tried NCSBN and Kaplan. I didn't like it too much so now I'm sticking to saunders.
