Transition to Leadership with These 2026 Online MSN Programs That Skip the Bedside Clinicals
Online MSN programs without clinical hours can be a strong fit for nurses moving into education, informatics, leadership, or other non-clinical roles. These programs focus on how care is organized and improved, with coursework in areas like policy, curriculum design, quality improvement, and healthcare technology. This guide reviews online MSN programs without clinicals for 2026 and explains what each track prepares you to do. It also clarifies what "no clinicals" means, since some programs still require applied projects or leadership-based work. Use it to compare formats, outcomes, and fit for your next move. Snapshot: Best Online MSN Programs Without Clinicals (2026) Duke University (Durham, NC): Online MSN options in leadership, informatics, and education with no direct patient care hours and a focus on systems, data, or teaching roles. University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA): Hybrid MSN in Nursing and Healthcare Administration focused on leadership, finance, and quality improvement without bedside clinicals. George Washington University (Washington, DC): Online MSN in Nursing Leadership and Management with coursework centered on policy, strategy, and organizational leadership. Grand Canyon University (Phoenix, AZ): Online MSN in Nursing Informatics focused on health data, systems design, and technology-driven roles, without patient care clinicals. These programs do not lead to APRN licensure and do not include direct patient care clinical hours. Some include applied projects or leadership-based practicums instead of bedside rotations.

Herzing University - Online Direct Entry MSN Program
Hello. I was recently admitted into Herzing University's online direct entry Master's in Nursing program. I was wondering if anyone else has been admitted into the program? Also, can any current or former Herzing students share their experience with the nursing program? How are the distance education classes and how supportive are the faculty/staff? I am trying to decide if I will attend or enroll in a community college/state school program. Thanks for your time.

Capella University RN-BSN-MSN flexpath - Experience?
Hi everyone, I am an RN ready to pursue my BSN (and possibly MSN), and I just discovered Capella University's online flexpath program. The way it's designed seems so perfect for me and I really want to do it. I read all the previous threads about this, but I have more questions! If there is anyone out there who is enrolled in this program, your input would be very much appreciated, even more so if you've successfully graduated and are now using your degree! My main concern is the very shady things I've read online about Capella not letting people graduate at the last minute, ripping people off, pulling a "bait and switch" with programs, and overall being a total criminal scam (none of these claims were about the Nursing program, most were Psychology). Normally I'd walk away, but I'm so intrigued by the equal amount of wonderful reviews I've been reading, and I really WANT to believe that this program exists the way the school describes it. I'm just concerned (and perhaps paranoid) that maybe all the great "reviews" are somehow paid for by Capella. So, for the real people out there who have done it: what is the catch? do books cost more than usual to make up for the cheap flat rate tuition? do employers take a degree from this place seriously? is the program rigorous enough so that you feel prepared for the next career step? Any feedback would be so wonderful!

Capella University vs Western Governors University (WGU) - What is Your Experience?
I'm wondering if anyone can give some updated light on which school (Capella vs WGU) would be better to attend. Are there discussion boards, group projects, and how many papers for each class?

Anyone attend Fort Hays State University or American Sentinel University?
I am interested in both schools at this point! Fort Hays requires the MAT (which is way better for me than the GRE) and is only $235.50 a credit hour for the MSN! American Sentinel has no testing requirements and is $450 a credit hour. I have been accepted at Excelsior College (where I earned my ASN and BSN from!), at $480 a credit hour. Although, I loved Excelsior I want to make sure I am happy with the curriculum and requirements! Cost can be a major issue as well! I just wanted some students opinions of these two schools! Thanks in advanced!

Anyone applying to Simmons College Direct Entry MSN Program 2012?
Is there anyone out there applying to the direct entry MSN program at Simmons? I will be attending the program beginning this summer (2012). I went to Simmons for my undergrad, so I've been living in Boston for 6 years and am well-aquainted with the area. I currently live in Brighton (about a 15 minute drive from the campus). I would love to talk to anyone applying to the program!!!! Chantelle [email protected]

Anyone know about Maryville's FNP program?
I am writing to see if anyone has attended or heard good things about Maryville University's FNP program? They are starting a new online FNP program next year, but am kind of leery because I am not able to find much about the program. Also, does anyone know where I might find FNP certification pass rates per university?

Vanderbilt MSN 2017
For prospective applicants for the 2017 year in the Vanderbilt MSN program. Being as I am currently wait listed in the 2016 year due to a very late application, there is a high probability I would have to apply again come November 1st 2016 for the following year acceptance. November 1st, 2016 is the priority application deadline for the 2017 year. All materials (GRE, official transcripts, application payment, letters of recommendation, statement of intent) must have been submitted by this date. Letters of acceptance for August 2016 orientation and start were sent out the first week of February 2016. Wait listed recipients received their wait list offer in an around the first week of March 2016 with the caveat that seats may open well into late July.
