  1. Traverse City, Michigan - In the face of an ongoing healthcare professional shortage, Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan, is taking an innovative approach. The hospital is offering enticing incentives, including free furnished housing for a year or $10,000 signing bonuses, to attract operating room nurses and surgical technologists. This unique strategy sets Munson apart, as it's currently the only hospital in Michigan providing free housing for permanent-hire nurses and other health workers. Application Requirements To qualify for these unique incentives, applicants must sign a two-year employment contract. After the first year, they have the option to pay rent in Munson-provided apartments or secure their own housing. Additional important notes: This program is exclusive to Munson Medical Center, the flagship hospital in Munson's eight-hospital system. Munson is hiring RNs with associate degrees but they require nurses to obtain a bachelor's degree within five years of being hired. Signing bonuses of up to $3,000 for operating room aides and up to $10,000 for operating room nurses and surgical technologists are also available. Munson Healthcare is not only focused on attracting new talent but also on retaining its existing workforce. The health system offers bonuses, tuition reimbursement, and wellness benefits to its current employees. Over the past three years, Munson has issued multiple appreciation bonuses and made the single largest wage adjustment in the health system's history. As the healthcare industry grapples with a shortage of nurses, Munson Medical Center's innovative approach serves as a potential model for other institutions. By offering unique incentives and focusing on both recruitment and retention, Munson is taking significant strides to address this critical issue.
  2. Hi all, Just wanted to know if any of your facilities are giving Covid bonuses? Or, anything else in the way of a bonus? Thanks !
  3. Hello all, 2 months ago the clinic I work at hired this new part-time nurse. We became friendly instantly sharing our professional experiences and career prospects. I commented to her that I would be open to a move although I am not particularly dissatisfied with my current. I know she works at Davita. It happens that I had applied to in the past when I was fresh out of shool, and when I mentioned that to her, she immediately said she would be happy to refer me to a job there. "She's so nice! " I thought. Few weeks later I submitted a general application on the company's website, just to test the waters, and a few days later I sent her a text message telling her about it. "Why didn't you tell me!" she said getting excited in what had been until then a lukewarm conversation. She immediately asked me for my email address and my resume to forward it to her boss. She even texted her to tell her about me. "She's so nice!" I thought again. Today, I have been researching more about the job, the pay they offer, the company culture, just to make sure I wouldn't shoot myself in the foot by switching jobs. It turns out that the pay they offer isn't exactly stellar, but also I noticed that their "referral program" is very developed, and it seems like they offer staff members cash rewards for referring new hires. My interest for the job and respect for that girl instantly dropped. I saw 2 red flags in 1 sitting. Great workplaces do not need to pay their employees to help them find new employees, and that referral system really sounds like something ponzi schemes do. That company is having difficulty hiring and retaining staff. I also wasn't too happy to find out someone was about to make a few thousand dollars on my back. What do you think?

I did a search to see if this topic is on here, didn’t find it. If you know of a link so we don’t recreate the wheel please feel free to direct me. 1- My inquiry: my facility offers a bonus for SOME shifts when they are in dire need of coverage. $150 for a 12 hour shift, and then accordingly for less hours picked up. What type of bonus do you see at your place? 2- when Mandated, do you receive a stipend/bonus? At my facility we do not, we just get forced to worked.
  5. I was hired for a job that came with a sign on bonus. Only issue is that I have never signed anything this crazy before and I don't want to sign on something and I would fall short in the end and pay back more money that will be given. I am sorry in advance because reading these type of agreement baffles and scares me. Also, English is my second language and reading contracts likes this confuses the hell out of me. HR had told me that I do not have to accept the sign on bonus if I do not want to. She even suggested new nurses accept it and some accepts the job without the bonus. The bonus requires me to work full time hours for a year. Can someone explain to me what this clause mean? ***Correct me if I am wrong. For example, I have been working for 6 months and they give me $2500 but then I end up leaving before the 1 year mark, does this mean that I have to pay back the whole $5000 regardless if they only had given half of that money? Please clarify this for me. I appreciate anyone who comments down below. Thank you in advance.
  6. Has anybody ever had to pay one back, and if so, how did that work? Like was it all taken out of your last paycheck(s) at once, did you pay it back gradually, etc.?
