In my short 10 months as a CNA, I've been offered many salaries. First I started looking into two home health agencies: one offered $8.50 an hour and the other $9.00. Another place was a group home for those with dev.disabilities & the salary was $6.50 an hour. Then I accepted a job at an assisted living facility for those with dementia & they offered my $11/hr. Then I accepted another job at an LTC for $13/hr, but the place is unionized so they take a percantage from your check. I had a job interview last week & they offered me a job & the pay was $11.40/hr with a dollar differential for 3-11 and $2/hr more on weekends. Today I had another interview, was offered the job and the base pay was $10.50/hr with a dollar differential for 3-11 & then $2/hr on weekends 3-11..so like $12.50 an hour. Tomorrow I have yet another interview!! I'll post the salary when they tell me lol :)

Specializes in ICU.

I got $9.25/hour starting with no experience in a hospital in Tulsa, OK. I got a $.50/hour raise after cross-training as a monitor tech within my first 6 months.

I work at an alzheimers facility..starts at 14.50$...50 cents more for 2nd shift, and 1$ for weekends..raise every october, usually 50 cents - $1.00 depending on budget

Specializes in Obstetrics, LTC, Assisted Living.

Try hospice or homehealth if you don't mind driving. They pay you for mileage and you donot have to stay in one place. They start you off with 14.00hr./hospice or homehealth/19.00/per pt.

i have done private care as a hospice aide. but most of the places around where i live (sutter medical) require a home health aide certificate, which i don't have  i actually find hospice very rewarding (not to say it's not emotional)
