It's not considered "OK" for nurses to do any kind of illegal drug. One is not more serious than the other. A positive drug test while at work will get you fired and reported to the BoN. A positive drug test on a pre-employment screen will lead to the offer being revoked at the very least.

On another note, they say that MDMA is quick to leave the system and the chance of being positive for it is low. Is this true? Is there even a drug test for MDMA that hey administer to nurses?

Do you honestly think we're going to give you pointers on the half-life of illegal drugs, or even legal drugs that are not being used as intended? Do you think we would give you information on what drugs are part of a drug screen?
The last thing our profession needs is members using illicit drugs. Personally, I hope you get caught if you get into a nursing program. Many schools now do random drug screens. If you manage to skate through school without drug testing, you WILL be tested when you get a job. Many jobs do random tests as well. If you get caught, the consequences will be nothing to "rave" about.
I cannot believe you are really asking if nurses can pop molly on their days off. For anyone else that wonders we can also : lick fentanyl patches, swap percocet for tylenol and sell it, and take your grandmas xanax. As long as you are off the clock NOT!
The stuff does catch up to you eventually.

Who is "they"? And I'm with OCNRN63, I am not commenting on how quick any drugs are to leave your system. If you use MDMA you will test positive for amphetamines. Drug screens don't test for specific drugs but for all potential drugs of abuse. And, no, it is not a lesser offense than testing positive for marijuana. If you test positive for any drug, be prepared to face your state's BoN and possibly have your license revoked.

Recently I've gotten into the "rave" scene, and with that, I couldn't help but notice that I have a total of 3 friends that are nurses and rave on MDMA. 2 RNs, and 1 LVN.
Is it considered "ok" for nurses to do MDMA on their off days? Do drug tests not detect this, and is Marijuana considered more serious if found in a drug test?
What do you think?
