Betty, I think it's Oct 2005 for Schedule A's and all PDs before that date (like yours) will still be counted on the current 50,000. Check again, Betty.
If the Visa Fee bill is paid, and w/ that PD I think you're safe.
Let's wait for Suzanne or Anna for more details.

Agree with Lawrence Info shows PD of last year Oct 05. Hopefully new visas for the UK released soon which should give us more hope as usual demand in the UK is not high.
Keeping fingers crossed for us all

my friends case said completed on monday this week
hers also now says retrogressed as does someone i know whos case is with the embassy
who knows what on earth has happened?
Have emailed NVC to clarify voice mail as others who have been retrogressed have a much later PD date also upto thursday still said waitng for fees to be sent contacted agent and fees were paid in mid oct so agent said they would contact NVC and ask for the automated msg to be updated so was expected fee's recieved pkt 3 sent. The msg doesnt even say case completed etc we were led to beleive that ur PD date was the indicator to wether or not 1 of the 50,000 visa would be allocated. Am so confused and distraught.

I am going to throw my two cents into this, hope that you do not mind.
1. Even if there is a retorgression going on, all thing smoive forward until the interivew date. I-140s can get submitted and be approved, the DS-230 will be sent once they have received payment, and that can be aproved as well.
2. The only thing that is not going on is the schedule for the interview with US Embassy at the moment.
You are getting worong information, that is for sure.
appreciate all the input:
It was the automated line for our case number at the NVC that stated no further action will be taken as there are no more visa's left.
Suzanne: my PD date was May 12 2005 the fee's were paid in oct but as far as we know the pkt 3 was never requested. NVC said we are now in E3 category visa that has a PD date of July 2002.
Very confused i thought with a May 2005 PD we were almost guaranteed a schedule A visa??? obviously not

Again, something is wrong with that tape that you heard. All petitions continue to move forward up until the time that visa numbers get assigned.
I do not go by when the PD is specifically, but more to when the DS-230 gets submitted and approved. No visa number is issued until they have approved the DS-230. It is not strictly based on when the PD date is.
If your DS-230 would have been submitted even in September and approved, then you definitely would have been in line for a visa right now, but the issue is that you did not get the DS-230. You just had the fees paid for the visa in October, there is no way that you would have a visa number reserved for you. Especially since you did not even receive the DS-230 yet. The numbers do not get reserved until the DS-230 is approved.
And if your PD date was more than one year ago, I would take that up with your agency...............they never did what they were supposed to do in the first place.
Packet 3 does not requested, it gets sent when they have received the payment for the visa. It is an automatic thing.
