Retaking an Excelsior exam

I took Across the Lifespan 2 yesterday and got a C on it...I did not study well for it at all and I would like to take it again in a week or so. Can you retake an exam you passed? and do you pay for the exam again? thanks in advance:specs:

Why would you want to take an exam you've already passed? Take the C and run! LOL! Please, don't spend more money on trying to retake an exam you've already passed. Just concentrate on studying for the next exam. If you've read the EPN messages, you would see that the Lifespan 2 exam was very difficult and alot of students failed it the 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd time and they claimed they have studied for months! You must know your stuff if you didn't study well and still passed, even with a C! Again, just move on and start studying for your next exam. :D

k1207,

R U crazy  Unsure if you could do a retake, plus you would have to pay again. My first test was a C and it made no difference in my life and then remainder of my tests were all A's and a B. You'll do great and good luck to you :pntrghi::nmbrn:

You passsed! Move onto the next exam, don't feel you need to be perfect with all A's or B's. You passed!

C=RN. Take it and move on.

To answer your questions:

yes you can retake the exams. They have a 60 day wait rule though. Yes you have to pay again. Full price.

However:

As everyone has asked, why???

Save your money for any exam you find that you HAVE to retake. Wait until near the end of your program, if retaking an exam would mean the difference between, say a GPA of 2.9 and 3.0, you might want to consider it. But remember that your second grade counts.

Keep your C. C=degree ~Hugs~ Traci

I thought about doing this on Chronicity when I got a C...but QUICKLY realized to take the C and run with it...

Felicia

RUN!!!! Forget about it. You passed and that is all you need right now...RUN!!!

Congrats btw

Thanks guys for all the replies and congrats...definetly a C can be awesome...I didnt really explain why this one bugs me. I only have 2 exams left..I have one A, two B's, and now 2 C's. I have left what I feel are the two hardest exams till last and am only hoping for C's on them..lol. I have 4 years college behind me and the last year I was there I destroyed my gpa. It went down to a 1.8. I have been taking a few classes here and there to bring it back up but my focus is Excelsior...and my dream is to be a Family Nurse Practitioner..so my gpa is vital to me. This C bugs me because it is a result of me being lazy..lol The content is one of my strong points and with proper studying I believe I could have done better..Anyway I guess I'll wait till I have taken my last two...and see how I do on those. Thanks again guys. :)

You can always log onto MyExcelsior to find out your current GPA on Status Report and Evaluation Summary. These are not easy exams and just getting a passing grade is a big achievement! :yeah:
