  4. plantar fasciitis.. anyone?

I wore Birki's for awhile and then they quit working. I have been wearing Walk-Fit insoles for 3 years, had my feet recently re-xray'd and my heel spurs are 1/3 of the size they used to be. www.walkfit.com
  5. Alert but confused

We had an elderly lady in the hospital, she was like 84, she kept saying her Mom was coming to see her and guess what? She did! Her Mom was 97 years old. Alert, orientated and ambulatory!
  6. Fresenius as an employer?

They "always" have openings, many and all the time. That signals to me that they are not retaining nurses. I'd beware.

Got the injection vaccine and absolutely no side effects.
  8. Help! How do I sign my name??

I don't see anything wrong with including BSN in your title. I haven't heard of anyone who was talked about because of it. Seeing these nurses with titles such as Nancy Nurse, RN, BSN, CRNP, LNC, APN, LNC are ridiculous.
  9. Help! How do I sign my name??

I don't think the BS degree belongs in your nursing title. I think it should just be Nancy Nurse RN, BSN.
  10. Help!! I failed clinical due to medication error

No you didn't. You have to check the armband at the patient bedside immediately before applying the nitro patch. Learn from your mistake and do your best to move on. I'm sorry it happened to you. I know you're heartbroken over it. Don't let it scare ...
  11. Help!! I failed clinical due to medication error

Obviously she didn't or she wouldn't have made the error. That's exactly why I love e-mar. (scanning bar codes)!
  12. anyone had herniated/ruptured c vertebrae discs?

I had a ruptured herniated disc and got good relief from a chiropractor. My sister had surgery and wished she had never had it. The pain went from bad to constant and I'm pain free. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do.
  13. No I don't think the subconscius mind was reacting. She doesn't like needles and she acted like a human being who is scared of needles. I think it's good when, we as nurses, occasionally have to be on the other end of the needle so that we can better...
  14. Was I wrong? Needle question

It's wrong, very wrong. Draw up one syringe with a small amount of lidocaine for the IV start and a seprate syringe with the amount of lidocaine anticipated to be used to deaden the area to be worked on. It's not only wrong, it's dangerous, lazy and...
  15. So very mad!!!

Always help the patient first whether or not there is a DNR. DNR does not equal "let them die". If they are in the dying process and you can make them more comfortable with oxygen then that's what you do. They may be a DNR or they may have a living w...
