If you are an LPN how long will it takes you to be an RN

Specializes in OR, Nursing Professional Development.

Welcome to AN! As posted, there are too many variables to give a simple answer without more information. However, the length of a program depends on how many additional prerequisites are required, the program itself, and whether or not you attend full time or part time. The best way to find the answers is to look at admission requirements and course sequence of programs that interest you or to speak to a representative of those schools.

In my case I had a few pre-reqs to take but once they were complete and I was accepted into a bridge program it was only 2 semesters with the second year ADN students. I was working also but all told it took me about a year.

It took me a year, but I was already in an ADN program when I became a LPN. The program I was in gave us a Diploma in nursing so that we could take our boards to become LPNs while we completed the last year of the ADN program.

As long as it takes you to complete the bridge program and pass NCLEX. I have a colleague who's been working on it for YEARS. But she works 40 hrs/week and takes a ton of on-call so I don't know when she fits in any school time.

Thanks a a lot guys. How long do the Arab program normally take to complete if u are willing to go in full time

Do anyone know if medtech is a good school or not for RN

Do anyone know if medtech is a good school or not for RN

Probably not. Avoid for-profit schools and learn all you can about accreditation before you choose programs to apply to. If you are in the US, call the state board of nursing in the state where you live and ask for a list of acceptable schools.

If you are in Saudi (we are getting lots of Saudi students here lately), you'll have to ask somebody there.

What's the best program and medtech

Have anyone taken NLN exit exam, what did you study.

In my area, for the community colleges, you have to have your Lvn license. Then get 6 mos experience in order to apply to the 1 yr Lvn to rn bridge.

Because of the way the app deadlines are set up, I graduated in late 2013. Licensed as Lvn by early 2014.

Worked and finished prereqs in mid 2014.

Applied to Lvn to rn bridge in early 2015 and started mid 2015.

I'm now in the program and will graduate by mid 2016.
