the only problem I see is summer courses are shorter, by like 2 months I think. So, your cramming in a full book worth of information in shorter time. I'm taking 9 hours this summer and I know it will be a lot of material... but I am motivated.

I agree with this, it takes a bit of class to be the smartest student. Don't answer every question, even if you know it, give your other classmates time, until you see your teacher struggling for the answer and makes eye contact with you, haha. I just wanted to say, I am a fellow 30 year old student acing my A&P 1 class. I think the class is easy so far, teacher makes it easy. Anyways, I am proud of my A+'s and kind of get a little giddy when he hands the test back. Other classmates ask to see it to find the correct answers to what they got wrong. I find honest joy in my intelligence- and finally DOING SOMETHING with it. BUT, regardless, we are 30... aren't we past the point of truly caring what anyone thinks of us if it is negative!? lol. Let someone compliment me and I will take it all day- "omgosh, thank you"... but it someone throws negativity at me- they become IRRELEVANT to me. So, I even have the awesome rolly backpack that people make fun of because the rolling can be a little loud I guess- I'm just like "I know, I love it so much!" haha

This is only slightly related to the post... like 5% related. In North Carolina, a man was sentenced to 11 to 21 years in prison for making 400+/- bomb threats. Over the summer, this man called numerous businesses in 3 counties with these threats. It was a lot of wal-marts I remember. That is insane, all these places having to shut down and then all the time from the police force! But wow, I hope he gets treatment in prison, because he obviously has a psychological problem. I wish prison's would focus on mental health more. Ehh, I thought it was an interesting story any-hoo!

my nursing school, a CC offering an ADN: I can't remember the EXACT number they gave me for the average.... but it was 72 or 77%, 70-something! I made an 84%.... The nursing adviser said I did not have to take it again, also the proctor said it was the highest score she had personally seen. The minimum score you could make was 63%, but that sure don't mean you'd be accepted. They also stress GPA and do not like seeing any B's. My GPA is 4.0 I will not know about my acceptance until sometime in February. But that is my best answer on my school's average!

Nope, no one(man or woman) needs to tell the pursuer "I'm sorry" or "Thank you", especially when the pursuer is making them uncomfortable, You owe NOTHING to this person, and if they can't get the hint by SILENCE, that is not your fault. Yes, sure, it would be nicest to politely decline, but the pursuer should not expect to be OWED the explanation or the "I'm sorry"'s and "thank you"'s Liiiiiiike, a woman doesn't have to smile, just because you told her to.

I am not in nursing school quite yet, but I feel like you have just saved my life. This is such a great idea! I have a small fear of my weak stomach getting to me when it all starts. Plus, I've had some nurse friends mention the peppermint oil, but here, I feel you "confirmed" it too, and even gave me the necklace idea! Thank you!

the online study guide is amazing, it gives you the materials to know, instead of the book telling you what you should know.....it does only come as a package with the book and the two practice test. it's pricey, but worth it if your really shaky on your material like i was...

my school even has disposable ones for $3, I see it lasting a few uses too, can wipe it clean and as long as I don't rip it..... bought a size too big though

just wanted to update! I took my TEAS on the 18th and made an 84 %, which is in the top 7th % of the nation! whoohoo! or you can say 93% of ppl made the same score or less than mine. The test proctor said she had not personally seen a test score so high! I did study, a few hours one day on the eng usage part and then ALL NIGHT the night before the test for the science, yes I did cram.... still only made a 62 on the science part- but like I said, I just now started bio this semester. 100 on the reading, a 90 on the math, and an 89 on the eng part. I'm stoked! and I don't have to waste the $65 to try a second time!!! wooooo! now, hopefully this gets me in the nursing program!

Where will this decision put DNAPs? Seeing as the doctorate is what most schools are transitioning to? I assume this is why they are requiring the doctorate... to prevent being held back by the lobbying of Anesthesiologists...?

Why unfortunately? I live in NC and only in school....I don't know anything about unions... But it seems everyone in a union on here has higher pay. Anyone care to navigate some positives/negatives about unions?

whew, crisis over! after some very nice emails back and forth, misunderstanding adverted! I will definitely be more careful about "picking my battles", even though this ended up not being one- it gave me so much anxiety, so much so that I didn't want to open my student email again! lesson learned :)

You guys were right though, should have not cared and went ahead and wasted my time rather than informing my teacher. It seems as if he is taking the "petty road". He has now taken away all answer guides and reducing the number of times you can take the quiz from 2 to only once. I've emailed about this change also. It seems unethical. We will see..... I feel this is now a bigger battle than I intended. Next step (if no email response) will be going to his office to ask questions/clarification. I really did not expect this pettiness or pride from a teacher. I thought they cared about the students.

It is a 4 week class, art appreciation, so yea- art history really, the first week we had 27 quizzes and 2 art projects, the second week we had 25 quizzes and 2 art projects, expecting the 3rd and 4th week to be about the same. If I am paying for my education, I thought it was only fair to tell the teacher about the mistakes, b/c he is failing me as a student- and literally wasting a lot of my time. That is the part that really gets to me- the extra time it is costing me. And he will do the same to future students if he is not aware. I see this as helping. I am not trying to make him feel dumb, but these are his mistakes, so he will feel however he wants. But now you say this, I realize I should not expect a "thank you" because I may have hurt his pride. I have read over many post in this forum and have gotten the general consensus to "not make waves". If this was a job, or maybe even nursing school, I would have kept quiet. Idk though, when something is blatantly wrong, and I have proof word for word, and it negatively effects me and possibly hundreds of other students.... it is hard for me to stay quiet! All throughout my secondary education, I have been encouraged to ask questions if I didn't understand something. I emailed him again today, because he counted my answer in one quiz as wrong even though I mentioned the conflict. (The other quizzes he counted as correct.) Hopefully he can respond and explain the answer to me because I do not understand. That's what teachers are for right? for learning? I'm being very nice in all emails, with my "Mr." and "pleases" and "thank yous" I definitely will not go over his head about any of this, because I am still making an A+. But I may be honest on the review IF he won't respond to my question. If this was a in-person class, I could just question him face to face, like a normal situation... I could have honestly went through this class on cake: only skimming and not really trying- take the quiz once, get all the answers from the study guide, then take it again and make a 100.... but I am taking my education seriously and find it fulfilling. I imagine he hasn't been shown the mistakes before because other students did the "cake walk" or either this is his first Art Class..... Thank you for your responses though, I'm sure I'm going to use this forum many times as I follow my nursing path- so I can be reminded to "not make waves!"

I'm getting discouraged in my art class! It is a 4 week winter intersession, so 16 weeks crammed in one, the whole book. I love it though because it's quick, or I did love it... Each week we have 20+ quizzes, from the book and then videos.... so the second week I found problems in 7 of the video quizzes! We get 2 turns to take the quiz. If you miss any the first time, it gives you the correct answers so you can take it a second time. My problem is I KNEW in 7 of those quizzes, the answer guides were wrong. I read straight from the video transcript. So my options were to retake the quiz using the answer guide's "wrong" answers, or email the teacher. Both of these options were very time consuming. I'm frustrated with the teacher making these numerous mistakes that are costing me valuable study time. So I emailed him and he made a blackboard announcement, but didn't respond to my emails to say thank you or anything. Honestly, I was trying to make him aware so it won't waste future student's time. At the end of our classes, the school ask for a review. And I'm going to be nice, but also honest and mention the time wasting aspect of multiple wrong quizzes. Will that be ok? Or is it something I should look past after mentioning it to the teacher? And now I'm dreading the final two weeks of quizzes, I hope he goes over them!

My art appreciation is a winter intersession course, 4 weeks long. It is online but I take about 25 quizzes a week and 2 art projects every week. It is a lot on top of studying for TEAs, but I love it bc it's only 4 weeks!!!

I don't know how to edit a post.... hence the 3 post in a row. To clarify a little better, CRNA was what I had planned to do out of high school. Young and dumb got in my way. A family friend/role model of mine is a CRNA, so I shadowed him many hours in high school and he has been encouraging me to get back in the dream every since I lost sight of it. Everyone is very excited about me going back to school, including me! I don't want it to seem like I'm that naive student going for quick money!

How did you do ctaylor? Did you use any study guides?

This isn't me. I am 30 and have finally found a dream,a goal in life. I have some amazing new found ambition that I've never experienced before. My end goal is going to be a Nurse Anesthetist. I plan on living for my education for the next 7 to 8 years. I just desperately do not want to have to wait until fall 2018 to get the ball officially rolling. I really need to make it into the 2017 program. Yet, if I don't, I will still continue and wait for 2018. I am just so excited. I am great at test and love studying, have a high IQ, a 4.0 gpa (so far) have taken AP bio a&p in high school, but that was 12 years ago... I've also spent $236 on the ATI study guide.... I expect to pass, but I want to do better than pass. I take my two turns in January at the test, I will update how I did. It helps to make me less nervous by being reminded this is technically a general education quiz!

You'll most likely have to call them. My school does not have the dates online.

Just wondering. I am trying to skip waiting another year and only have gotten to take English 111 and General psych. I'm using the official study guide and trying hard, but interested if anyone else went into the TEAS like I am? I can update how I do at a later date. I'm hoping my IQ is still as sharp as it once was.
