Anything good about CO nursing?????
I am a first year student in northwst CO. We have a pretty good hospital here and a even better one about 45 miles away in steamboat spgs. I have been a CNA for 5 years and during our clinical rotation I have to say I love it here. Yes, everyone has a shortage which makes it hard, but thats what we are going to school for right?

Did not pass the NET
I just passed the Math today!!!FINALLY!! Man I don't know why it was such a struggle. Mine was computerized and the timer was at the bottom of the screen which was very intimidating! Good luck to the rest of you! Melissa

Training as a CNA...
I work as a CNA duing home health care. I work in a couples home and sometimes the night shift can be just as challenging as the day!! Sometimes they are up all night!

how do you afford to live while in school?
Just a thought, hospitals in my area, if you have your CNA, they have a program where they hire you part-time and pay for a big part of your tuition in return for a 2-3 year contract when you are done. If you don't have your CNA, they still help with tuition. It wouldn't hurt to look into your local area to see if you have any facility willing to do that. I have save some in savings, but luckily my husband works full time and my kids are in school . I will still have to work a few days at my cna job to keep up. Good Luck!!!

Worked in healthcare before you got accepted?
I have been a can for a year. It is not required by my program but is recommended. I had to be on a waiting list for a year and a half before being accepted. My sister is going to a university where it is required to have your cna license and you have to have a certain gpa ect. to get in. Crazy how everywhere it is different.

Who's applying for the Fall 2006 semester?
I applied and accepted for the fall semester here in CO. We only have 22 slots avaliable and a waiting list of about 50-60 at a time. Crazy! Good luck to everyone!!!!

Did not pass the NET
Do not feel bad, keep your spirits up! I am in the same boat, trust me I feel very stupid!! I passed the reading the first time. I took the math for the third time today and missed it by a few points. Luckily my program insists you take it as many times as you need to get a passing score. I have to re-take it in three weeks. I really think it is the little clock on the screen that makes it so hard! All the pressure! Melissa
