Drexel ACE STUDENTS or GRADUATES
This is in response to "selfsupporting"'s message from today. I knew of people who commuted from Delaware, Atlantic City, Reading, Pottstown, etc. I believe you can catch the R3 train from Delaware and get off at Suburban Station, or if you want to drive, there is $5/day parking at 12th and Callowhill. The parking lot across the street from Drexel is $12/day. Me personally, I'm partial to taking the train. I don't have to deal with traffic, plus it gave me time to get some studying out of the way, especially if you have to kill an hour by commuting back to DE.

AF Nursing Opinions
Hello. So I'm torn b/w choosing AF nursing or Army Nursing. I heard AF nursing gives you a lot more freedom. I would like to hear opinions from AF nurses, especially anyone that's ever worked at Andrews or Elmendorf. I'm guessing Elmendorf, you don't see a lot of trauma?? Thanks.

loans
I just met with an Army Recruiter and they are now paying back up to $110,000 for three years. Sounds fishy to me. I'm sure they are tacking on a couple more years somewhere in there and just not saying anything. Also met with the AF recruiter. They give $30,000 for 4 years plus a $25,000 sign on bonus if you commit 6 years. They will also pay for your master's in anything you want whereas the army only pays for your MSN.

Drexel ACE STUDENTS or GRADUATES
Lunise...what section are you in? We're obviously in the same quarter since you said you graduate in 9 days. Well, in response to the original question, you are going to find people who recommend the program and those who don't, you will find people who are confident, and those who aren't. Me personally, I wouldn't recommend this program. It's too fast and I don't feel I learned enough to start taking care of patients. Midterm weeks and finals weeks are very, very stressful. I believe it's second quarter where you have 8 exams in one week, which is absolutely ridiculous. Yeah, you will have free time, but I don't think it's a hell of a lot. I mean, while everyone is off down the shore this weekend or out partying and BBQing, I'll be sitting in my apartment with a book in my face preparing for finals. Not fun. I just personally feel Drexel asks for almost too much.

Drexel ACE STUDENTS or GRADUATES
I will be graduating from the ACE program in about three weeks. This program was a huge pain in my ass, and i hate it. it should not be 11 months b/c the students definitely need more clinical time. Drexel is obviously not too concerned about their student's health. God, I hate this program.

Any Army Nurses?
Hello all! I will be graduating from nursing school in one month. I'm interested in joining the Army as an Officer and I want to hear opinions from current Army Nurses. What is the pay like? Do they really give you money to pay back loans? Do you get to choose what hospital you want to work at? What are the better military hospital in the country? Can I work internationally my first year? Any information would be great. I know talking to a recruiter will simply tell me things that I wanna hear.....but I wanna hear the truth. Thanks.

Any good Peds hospitals in AK?????
Hello everyone! I currently live in Philadelphia, PA. I'll be graduating in September, and I just wanted some info on hospitals in AK. I understand AK is more of a remote place than the lower 48. My area of interest is pediatrics. Are there any good hospitals for peds up there????????????? Thanks. Meg

Will I get accepted to Drxel ACE?
I'm currently in the ACE program, and I want to shoot myself. I'm in the last quarter and everyone is just so bitchy anymore and there's no fight left in us. It's a struggle to go to school everyday b/c I'm so burned out. I really wish I had went with another accelerated program. Yes it's possible to graduate and survive, obviously, but Drexel is so set on being "the fastest accelerated program in the country", that it seems they're not taking into account students health. If you wanna keep your sanity, try a different program like Villanova or even Penn. Boy am I a party pooper Sorry. Just venting.

Because I'm burned out from the program. People just seem to be depressed. You hear about people crying all of the time. Plus the added stress of not working for a year doesn't help either. The program just seems to be slightly disorganized. And some of the requirements during the year are a little ridiculous. But I'm sure the other accelerated programs are the same as well.

Temple Accelerated Program
It's very, very stressful and disorganized. I'm sure it's like that with other accelerated programs though.

Temple Accelerated Program
Temple doesn't advertise their accelerated program since they accept so few people. But it sounds like a great program. I asked the professors at Temple why they don't advertise, and their response was, "We want to see how well we do without the advertising." I'm in the ACE program now, and I"m sure I would have enjoyed Temple's program more. ACE sucks!

Temple Accelerated Program
I applied for the Temple Accelerated program last summer. It's very, very competitive since I believe they only accept 10 people due to the lack of staffing. Besides the application process, you have to do an interview. It's a group interview, and all you do is get information about the person you're partnered up with, find out their background, and then recite information back to the professor so he/she can get an idea of your speaking skills. Then you read an article and write a timed opinion paper on it to test your written skills. I thought I would have an edge in since I graduated from Temple, but I didn't get in. Good luck.

Will I get accepted to Drxel ACE?
Hey. I'll graduate in Sept. from the ACE program. Unfortunately, the program may not accept a 2.3 GPA. A lot of people apply to the program, and Drexel seems to be pretty strict about everything. In my opinion, you don't wanna do the ACE program anyway. Most people in the program can't stand it. It's like the military.

Hey. I'll be graduating from the ACE program in Sept. From my standpoint, you need to be better at math than science. The only science that seems to be beneficial is anatomy and a little bit of microbio. I don't think you want my opinion on the program in general though :)
