  1. You need time management help, I have had as many as 21 subacute/Pacu and 26 LTC. Be glad mgmt has not fired you. Today mgmt wants you done on time and when they see 9 patients that insanely low. Good Luck
  2. Definetly talk to the boss now. It will show your concern. That will be good for you. If you can get some proof, like a hospital record for your dad if you can. Don't wait till you 3 month probation is over Good Luck
  3. Just breathe SAY I CAN DO THIS I CAN. If you need help ask same when you become a nurse never ever be afraid to ask a question or help no matter how silly or little . As a nurse or anyone in the medical field every day you learn something new. Learn as much as you use the instructors NOW for help. ok Remember BREATHE
  4. Being Bulliyed is horrific. It happened to me and I was shocked that this could happen in nursing. I would be driving to work and the stomach pains would start then the headaches. There is nothing worse then being afraid to ask a question because when you do the eyes roll you get a huff and sometimes a commenr under the breath. We are nurses we take care of people and there is always something new to learn or re learn. The old saying nurses eat there young well with me I think it was nurses eat the older nurse. I was one of the lucky ones and left and found a good place with caring nurses.
  5. As a LPN you are working under a RN. These positions are to be signed off by a RN only. Are you aware of that?
  6. I work 7-3PM Who gives a 3PM med me 7-3 or the 3-11 nurse?
  7. Nursing is a tough job, you need your family behind you. It is not just passing a few meds, and putting on a little baid aide. Residents take alot of meds wounds are heavy then you have labs, DRs orders, family to contend with , call out's CNA call out you have to do there job also. If you work days you have all of that and usually stay till at least 5PM. 3-11 has admissions. So the older nurses get burned out. I have thought about quiting my self. Then I go in and a patient will say oh I am so glad you are here . It is no longer a 8hr job and you family ha to understand cooking after a day like I described is not a option. Well that's my thoughts.
  8. inhalers how many minutes between each one
  9. Looking for a good study guide for the ANCC Gerontoloic Rn Nurse exam, any advice [email protected]
  10. Are the new RNs FT? If they are, they get the hours. Why not apply for that or PT?
  11. What are the steps to become Board certified in Gerontology nursing. Rhe ANC does not say. Is there a course I need to take or what Need some better info other than cost and requirements
  12. Happened to me as well, gave notice then asked to work one extra day which was a Sunday. I was working l Saturday, needed Sunday to rest for new job on Monday. I was off Thursday before the week-end got call and said no need to come back I have some one. Well that someone was the charge nurse who was not happy, the boss was not happy I resigned so this is how she handled it. I was shocked as well.JC
