In my opinion, just apart of nursing.

depressed lpn working in home health
Poor thing. You won't lose your license for quitting job. If that was the case I would have been working a McDonald's a long time ago.

should I fill out med error form?
That would be a lot of incident reports. It should be brought to the attention of those who need to know and suggest a new method of renewals being done.

is this abuse
In fast food you can call your manager and they can finish serving that person. IMO nursing is one of the most abusive jobs. We can't just "call the manager" We might be able to call our superviser for the family but you still have to work with them. And the patients..lol..psych eval. And if they are just a prick then you just have to deal with it till they are transfered or die or something. That can be along time. I love helping others but sometimes I DO question my line of work. We are hit, spit on, talked down too and cursed at plus other things. It can come from the pt's, their families, administration, cena's and other nurses. Then we have to deal with the taddle tales. Yeah, we are to be superhuman all the time.

How are you treated by RNs
Well for me, in LTC it's mostly LPN's so there isn't really an issue. From time to time you get an RN working the floor and they feel the need to deligate to you as if they are a monager. I just tell them "no" and to ask nicely..lol. Here in Michigan in the hospitals LPN's work under an RN and are like glorified CNA's so I won't do it here. In La I did med-surg and was on my own and was treated as part of the team. Neuro & Physical rehab was about the same.

Questions on charting

Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!
I'm 30 and have been an LPN for 7 years. I am doing my pre recs with excelsior and am also in Michigan. 5 y/o and 10 y/o.

I knew it wasn't right while I was doing it...
As an LPN in New Orleans on a med-surg unit I worked independently taking orders and all. Of course with some exceptions. In Michigan I learned as an LPN I would be a glorified CNA. I would not work in a hosp here for that reason.
