  1. I feel the same way about my first test. I don't know exactly what I got yet. I feel a little discouraged about the whole ordeal. Hopefully everything works out.
  2. Congratulations!!
  3. At my school the net results are valid for two years. If you are not accepted into the program by the time the two years is up, you have to retake the test.
  4. I was wondering if anyone had any information on the CNA program at WCCCD? How long is it and what is the program like?
  5. I also was thinking about taking two science classes. I asked for advice and it was 50/50. Some people said they prefer to take science classes one at a time. Other people said they took two or more science classes and they managed it. So I think that it all depends on what you think that you can handle.
  6. I will be finish with all of my pre-req's in the summer of 07. For the summer session I will only have Microbiology left. So will I still be able to apply for Fall of 07 since I will complete Micro in the summer? Or will I have to wait until the Winter session?
  7. I am taking Nutrition, Lifespan Development, Intermediate Algebra, Biology, English Lit. I am taking up 16 credit hours in all. I am ready for many sleepless nights.
  8. There is a website www.fastweb.com that has all different kinds of scholarships and information on them among other things.
  9. Thank you, I was just confused on if it was four or more semesters.
  10. Madonna University also has a LPN program. I think its LPN to MSN, but I am not for sure. You can check it out at there website http://www.madonna.edu.
  11. I also want to double up on my science classes, but I have been advised not to. People tell me how hard and time consuming science classes are. But I don't want to be taking pre-req's forever. I have all of my other pre-req's and co-req's completed. I just have science classes left to complete. I am so happy to hear that it can be done! I never took lab before so I don't really know what to expect. But if I double up it will only put me ahead by one semester. Do you think that it's worth it?
  12. I wonder why no one has responded to this because I would also like to know the answer to this also. But I wonder how could you travel with a child doing short term assignments like 13 wks. Wouldn't you have to take your child in and out of schools? I have kids and in the future I would consider travel nursing, but I've been told that it is not possible since I have kids.
  13. I am living with someone who has problems with foot odor. Well he doesn't have problems with his feet anymore. After he gets out the shower he sprays his feet with the foot spray, then puts the foot powder in his shoes. He hasn't had any odor problems since.
  14. I have two questions for those accepted into the nursing program. 1. Was your G.P.A. based on your overall g.p.a. or just you g.p.a. for your pre-req's? 2. I heard that WCCCD doesn't allow you to attend nursing classes in the summer. So does the two-years consist of just four semesters?
  15. Congratulations to all of you who got accepted! PLEASE keep us posted this Fall on how things are coming along.
  16. it's just basic math, reading, and english on there. at my school i took it on a computer, and it wasn't that long. i don't know if you are going to a university or community college. but at a community college it doesn't matter how good or bad you do,you are still accepted to the college. they just want to make sure they place you in the right classes. for instance, if you aren't that good in english, they don't want to place you in a english class that you can't handle. they will place you in a class where you can build your strengths up. the compass test is in your best interest to prevent that from happening.
  17. i agree with the above post, you really need to talk to a school counselor. but an assessment test just tests you on the basics of math, science, etc. the college just wants to know what level you are on so they can place you in the right classes.
  18. i'm sure you will have to take all of these classes. but you should sit down with a counsler to know exactly what you should be taking. besides studying, having a good professor will help you out a lot. if asking around doesn't help, go to www.ratemyprofessors.com. you should try to find a good professor for your classes before you register.
  19. I purchased a study guide from my school's bookstore. It tells all about the NET test, and has a seperate section for each subject. It even has practice tests inside of the book. It is called the Study Guide for The Net, The Hobet, The Help entrance tests. The authors are Michael D. Frost, PhD, and Mitchell D. Jarvis, BSCS, BSM.
  20. Well I attend the Downriver Campus so I wouldn't personally know. But I went on a website and he was rated as a good quality professor. The website is www.ratemyprofessors.com. You can also read comments that other students wrote.
  21. Really? How was the science classes online? I thought that they would be really hard. I know that you have to go to lab on campus certain days. Did that make it any harder?
  22. Is the lab with Bio 155 hard? I never had to take lab in high school. I am taking Nutrition this fall online. I heard that this was the first time it will be offered online.
  23. I meant to say that I am taking Bio 155 and Math 112 on campus. Who are some good instructors for Bio 155 or other science classes?
  24. I agree that online classes are self taught. I am a little skeptical about taking science classes online. I would rather take them in person because I would want to be there in person. But it is different for each person. Maybe you could start with taking English and other pre-reqs online to see how it goes first.
  25. I am going into my second year of pre-req's. I took all of Spring semester online. Fall semester I will have 16 credit hours. I will be taking DT 130, Eng 250, Lifespan Development online. Bio 155 and Math 112. I am a little skeptical of Bio 155, so hopefully you could let me know what I'm looking forward to. Also what was the Net like? Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for? What really are the pre-req's needed for nursing since the list I got from the office is incorrect? Thanks!
