Visa Screen Certificate / CGFNS
If I do not renew my VSC and I go to the US with my husband, how will I be able to work there? How will I prove my educational background? CA board will only keep my NCLEX results, I did not provide SSN and no license was issued.

Visa Screen Certificate / CGFNS
Thank u! We are living outside of the USA and did not start the immigration process yet, that is why I do not like to loose my VSC. Can u, please explain how that works? I am still a foreign nurse and I will need VSC to work in the US?? California board gave me a time frame to provide a social security number which I did not, coz I was not in the US. I'm guessing they destroyed my file. That was in 2007..Thank u!

Visa Screen Certificate / CGFNS
Hello, again, Im back to allnurses.com :) I passed NCLEX, got my Visa Screen certificate, applied for petition and it was denied. I got frustrated and left everything behind. Now I am happily married to an american national and planning to go to the States in the near future. My Visa Screen Certificate will expire in may and I need to renew it. I was not able to find the online application for renewal. Is it the same as the initial application? I have actually few questions, please, be patient with me, coz I am lost again! Do I need to sit for IELTS again if I have just finished my post registration degree with Australian University? Do I need to supply all the transcripts from high school and College if I have done it already during the initial application? What are the fees for VSC- renewal? I have changed my name as well after getting married, do I send them a copy of the marriage certificate directly? I will be gratefull of your input as always! This site has been of a grate help to me, doing all the process by myself. I hope Suzanne is around too. Thanx to her and her program I passed NCLEX- 1st time! Elena

Canadian registration after passing NCLEX-RN
Thank you, janfrn! I looked at few of your replies. You are very competent and helpful! I am going to do my homework :) my plans have changed. We are thinking of the immigration papers as well. Which is faster, applying for immigration as a spouse or as a nurse? Regards

Transcript Validation Form
Hello, foxpro, Yes, I got all the papers finally right and got my VSC. My agony is over thanx to Suzanne, Lawrence, Starbin and many wonderful people here at the allnurses. The College will not mail the transcripts, they dont do that. What you should do is pay the fees, get a set of transcripts, take them to a translator and let him prepair the envelope with the address of CGFNS on it. When the transcripts are translated put them in the envelope and take them back to the College. There they will seal and stamp it. You will be the one to send it by mail and you will pay for it. It is obligation of the College to issue as many tanscripts as you want. You are paying for it. The administration is sick of seeing my dad and mom there for all kinds of papers, but keep your goal in your mind and be persistant. Dont give up! It is a long road, but it is something doable. Good Luck and let me know if you need anything. I will happy to help you!

Thank u, Siri, it feels great to be able to put all the books away. My desk looks very clean now :) I looked at the immigration site and the requirements .... There r thousands of papers I have to prepare and send. I kind of thought that I have achieved a lot, but it seems I am just at the begining of the road...

How many of you have 75 questions passed or failed?
Saunders is all u need. Have a look at the Kaplan strategies and do the Saunders CD. Most of the nurse here follow Suzanne's guide and pass. The difficulty level is determined by the computer. Some questions may be easy for me and difficult for u if u r not familiar with the scenario. Saunders will teach u how to think, eliminate and prioritize. I found NCLEX question similar to Saunders, shorter though.

Try the few sites for online booking like asiahotels, asiarooms... They have very good offers. and it is cheaper via the agent as they have special prices. Book in advance, as they dont always have availability. Let me know if I can help u with smthg else. Good luck

How long do i have to wait in CA??? HELP
I knew from before that if u get a thin envelope, u passed as if not the Board is sending u the papers for reapplication. It is always a white envelope (normal Ca Board envelope). My envelope was thin and once I touched it it was e relief, walked around the whole day, waiting for my b/f to come and open it, read it and then just tell me passed or failed. Try to occupy urself with smthg that u missed to do for the past few months while studying, hang in here, this site is the best. So many people know how u feel and understand u the best... I keep my fingers crossed for u. Keep us posted

It's my turn to say....

Thanx to all of you! This site has been really helpful, motivating and informative. I used Saunders book with the CD, all that Suzanne advises us to use. Nothing more. A year ago I went through Kaplan book for strategies. It was helpful to learn how to Maslow, delegate and prioritize. But Suzanne's plan was the key... Follow it and be confident. Honestly, I felt like I did well after the exam, dancing and thanking God for giving me this opportunity, but was afraid to say it loud. Thank you for the support! Work hard and remember that it is doable!

Urgent question needs answering.
Most of the nurses here studied from Saunders and most of them passed. I dont know how can you study and take it as a waste of time. Nurses, we can not say we now enough. Never! And the same is with NCLEX. They dont expect you to know everything, everybody does 50 right and 50 wrong. Your scores are not bad. By now you should close the books and go out, walk, see a friend. Dont get too excited, sleep and eat well. Try to do your best on the exam, keep breathing and eliminate after reading the question carefully. that is all. Keep us posted, good luck, God with you!

NCLEX in Hong Kong
I stayed in Harbour View International, went by MTR and it took me few min. walking to the MTR station and another 10 min. to the test center. Very convinient. I could go by taxi as well. Hong Kong is a very small island. I stayed 4 nights in the hotel and it was excellent. It was not very expensive, taking into consideration that I was in Wan Chai area (around 110 US$ a night). The MTR system is very convinient, even if you stay in Kawloon area which is cheaper, there is a good connection with MTR. The distance between the stations is 2-3 min. Hope this helps.

Nclex exam schedule in Hongkong
I had NCLEX in Hong Kong in december and I had to shedule my appointment 3 months in advance. The only available slots were on Christmas Eve and New Year. And I took one of them. As Lawrence said, some of this appointments are not real, but candidates release them just a week or 2 before the actual date. Most of the cases you can not make travel araingements in only 2 weeks. Look at the other test centers close tou you. Good luck to you!
